Recommend macros for druid?

Hope to play all specs except bear, maybe try bear at later date.

Any advice for me? A lot of forums and powers to manage so I want to always be doing the best thing.

While not a macro, some very helpful tips:

Set all cross-spec abilities to the same keybind so that way they do not change when you change forms.

To save Bar space
Pick up a nice Heal/Harm mouseover macro. For instance i have one that Rejuv’s Friendly targets, and Moonfires Enemies. One that Regrowths, and Wraths…etc.

Personally I recommend picking up Vuhdo addon, also it can save even more space on your bars. As well as Track things on Friendlies for Healing and Enemies.

Sounds really useful!

Here’s the macros I use:

#showtooltip [talent:3/1] Typhoon; [talent:3/2] Incapacitating Roar; [talent:3/3] Ursol’s Vortex
/cast Typhoon
/cast Incapacitating Roar
/cast Ursol’s Vortex

This one will change the button for your affinity talent pending on which talent you have selected. If you’re balance affinity for example it’ll be typhoon, etc.

#showtooltip
/cast Berserk
/use 14
/use Jotungeirr, Destiny’s Call

This one I don’t use anymore, but it used to pop my trinket + weapon last tier. You have to have the on use trinket in the bottom slot (or change /use to 13). You can also change Jotun to an agility pot or something like that, it’s just a nice burst macro for feral.

#showtooltip
/cast Celestial Alignment
/use 14

Same thing as above, but for CA for balance.

#showtooltip
/cast Convoke the Spirits(Night Fae)
/cast Kindred Spirits(Kyrian)

I use this so I have one button for my covenant ability for when I saw between kyrian and NF.

#showtooltip Frenzied Regeneration
/cast [stance:0/2/3/4/5/6] !Bear Form; [stance:1] Frenzied Regeneration

I use this mostly for pvp, but you tap it twice to pop into bear form and roll a frenzied regen. You have to be guardian aff for it to work.

#showtooltip
/cast [talent:4/1] Mighty Bash
/cast [talent:4/2] Mass Entanglement
/cast [talent:4/3] Heart of the Wild

This is just a one button macro for your 35 talent row since I change that regardless of spec week to week.

#showtooltip Shadowmeld
/cast Shadowmeld
/cast !Prowl

This one is NE only, it’s just a one button go from meld to prowl.

#showtooltip
//yell BIG F’in TREES!!! RUN!!!
/cast [talent:1/3] Force of Nature
/cast [talent:6/3] Stellar Flare

This one is for balance, if I’m in my specced into stellar flare it’ll be used for that, if I’m talented into FoN it’ll cast that. Also, if I’m running with on of my regular tanks that likes to tunnel on necrotic weeks, I delete the second / on the first line and it makes me yell at him everytime I pop trees for him :stuck_out_tongue:

#showtooltip
/cast [talent:2/2] Renewal
/cast [talent:2/3] Wild Charge

Lastly, just a one stop button for my 25 talent row, usable by multiple specs.

I also have a couple more macros that I’ve set up for trinkets to be used with certain abilities because I’m terrible about using trinkets without forgetting about them, but I’m not going to bother posting those.

I don’t use this one, but another helpful macro would be,

#showtooltip
/cast [@cursor]Efflorescence

It’ll cast efflo wherever your mouse is hovering, keeps you from having to click twice. I healed a few keys last night, would have probably been helpful to run it.

I second Poiniends.

Spend the time to set up your keybinds between forms and spec. Having Stampeded and Dash the same across all forms and specs for example, is key. Skull Bash, etc…

I finally sucked it up after doing it randomly for 10 years. Did it beginning of shadowlands and it took a good hour or so, playing with target dummies, moving through specs and forms and getting things where I wanted.

100% worth it and so much smoother in the end isn’t it?

Thats smart to do with all your characters. I have a 12 button mouse and my 6 key is always my kick, 7 is always a stun…etc. throughout all my toons since pretty all class have a kick/stun/dispel etc.

Same here. 4 is always my kick, 5 is always my stun, 6 is my short defensive

Across all characters

Cannot stress this enough.

Spells such as Natures Cure and Soothe can share the same key. Mouse over a friendly to decurse, or an enemy to soothe.

#showtooltip
/use [@mouseover,exists,harm] Soothe; [@mouseover,exists,help] Nature's Cure; [harm] Soothe; Nature's Cure

Make all your spells mouse over.
ALL OF THEM!!!

If you happen to be targeting another mana user while pressing innervate, it will go to them and not you. Thats a bad feeling. If they arent a mana user, youre just met with an error message, and thats just frustrating.

Use this macro to always target yourself with innervate.

#showtooltip Innervate
/cast [target=Tical] Innervate
  • use your own name, obviously.

As a druid, youre constantly swapping specs.
I do it so often that it became a nuisance having to open the talent page.
Use this macro to swap with just a click.

/cancelform
/run SetSpecialization(3)

1 = chicken
2 = cat
3 = bear
4 = tree

If youre extra like me, you can add Bloodtotem War Harness to guardian so that you always have it equipped.

/cancelform
/use Bloodtotem War Harness
/run SetSpecialization(3)

Just be sure to cancel it for the other specs.

/cancelaura Bloodtotem War Harness
/run SetSpecialization(4)

I placed them to the side here and then pulled down the equipment manager spec outfit at the bottom to signify what spec im (i forget sometimes).

#showtooltip [stance:3] Prowl; [] Cat Form
/cast [nocombat, nostealth] !Prowl; [combat] !Cat Form

This is more for feral, but good for all specs.
It will shift you to cat, and automatically prowl if out of combat.
While already in cat press it to enter prowl.

This was a quality thread.

Indeed, and only 2 of us have actually shared our macros :stuck_out_tongue: Lot’s of solid advice going around though. <3 the druid community.

Absolutely was. took a while to unlearn years of bad muscle memory, but once I got over the hump, so much better.

The only variation I have is when I’m resto, and in cat form. My standard heals are 1-5 when in humanoid form. For Feral spec, 1-5 are my most used attacks. So when I go Feral affinity while resto, I actually keep my heals 1-5 so its easy to break form into a heal, and moved my feral attacks to S1-S5. Not as smooth, but at least keeps the 1-5 standard, and keeps my heals the same between forms. I do the same for balance affinity.

Shadowlands Specific Macros.

Covenant Signature Abilites - Will switch with Covenant Swap

#showtooltip
/cast Door of Shadows
/cast Soulshape
/cast Fleshcraft
/cast Summon Steward
/run local G=GetSpellInfo SetMacroSpell(GetRunningMacro(), G"Door of Shadows" or G"Soulshape" or G"Fleshcraft"or G"Summon Steward")

Druid Covenant - Will switch with Covenant Swap

#showtooltip
/cast Kindred Spirits
/cast Ravenous Frenzy
/cast Adaptive Swarm
/cast Convoke the Spirits
/run local G=GetSpellInfo SetMacroSpell(GetRunningMacro(), G"Kindred Spirits" or G"Ravenous Frenzy" or G"Adaptive Swarm" or G"Convoke the Spirits")

I have a ton of macro’s and Druid eats up more Macro Slots than any other class. I will share some of my favorites.

Affinity Swap

#showtooltip
/cast [spec:2,talent:3/1][spec:3,talent:3/1][spec:4,talent:3/1] Typhoon; [spec:1,talent:3/2][spec:2,talent:3/2][spec:4,talent:3/3] Incapacitating Roar; [spec:1,talent:3/3][spec:2,talent:3/3][spec:3,talent:3/3] Ursol’s Vortex; Maim

Tiger Dash will replace Dash so this is redundant but I kept Tiger Dash in there just to avoid the Red ? when if I select that talent. It doesn’t matter if you leave it in or not.

#showtooltip
/cast [talent:2/1] Tiger Dash; [talent:2/2] Renewal; [talent:2/3,@mouseover,exists][talent:2/3]Wild Charge;

14 is trinket slot 2 (13 is 1) and 16 is the weapon slot. You can remove 16 and the spec 1/4 condition if you just want to use the trinket. The Venthyr ability is just my personal preference. You can remove that as well.

#showtooltip
/use [spec:1] Celestial Alignment; [spec:2/3] Berserk; [spec:4] Incarnation: Tree of Life
/use [spec:1/4] 14; [spec:2/3] 16
/use Ravenous Frenzy(Venthyr)

Growl from any form to Bear Form.

#showtooltip Growl
/stopcasting

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover, exists] Nature’s Control

Guardian Affinity /Guardian Frenzy Regen from any form to Bear.

#showtooltip
/cast [noform:1] Bear Form
/cast Frenzied Regeneration

Druid Utility - Soothe, Nature’s Cure/Remove Corruption and Brez in one button using a help/harm/dead condition.

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,dead][help,dead]Rebirth;[spec:4,@mouseover,help,nodead]Nature’s Cure;[@mouseover,help,nodead]Remove Corruption;[@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm]Soothe;[spec:4]Nature’s Cure;Remove Corruption

Travel/Spec Form Macro

#showtooltip
/cancelform [mod:ctrl]
/use [swimming,noform:3][outdoors,nomounted,noform:3]!Travel Form;[noswimming,indoors,noform:2][spec:2,form:3][spec:2,form:2,noswimming]!Cat Form;[spec:3]!Bear Form;[spec:1]!Moonkin Form;[form:2]!Cat Form;!Travel Form

My Moonkin/Moonkin Affinity Disengage + Flap. I have this as a separate keybind from Wildcharge.

#showtooltip
/cleartarget [dead]
/targetenemy [noharm]
/cancelform [form:3]
/cast [form:4] Wild Charge; Moonkin Form;
/cast Flap

Druid Kick. Mousover Kick for Moonkin, Put you in Bear Form if you are out of form to kick (i.e PvP or Boomkin Convokes as Guardian). Skull Bash in cat form if you are already in cat form.

#showtooltip
/cast [spec:1,@mouseover,harm,nodead] [spec:1] Solar Beam; [noform:1/2] Bear Form; [spec:2/3,@mouseover,harm,nodead] [spec:2/3] Skull Bash;

I will try to add some more later. Hope that this helps.

That’s nice!!

Going to steel the soothe/cure/rez one. Never occured to me to lump those together to put 3 binds into 1

I can’t take credit for the Soothe/Decurse/BRez Macro. Elvenbane int he UI/Macro forum is a living legend. Most of my macro’s stem from his idea’s that I tailor to fit my keybinds/playstyle.
