Recommend a realm for best leveling experience classic

Hi all,
I want to create a new character on classic WoW, and I’m wanting to try and find as close to a good leveling experience as possible (aka, can find people for dungeons, people help with group quests, people are leveling in the world and not just in dungeon farms/boosting etc etc.) I know generally that PVE realms are better for this, but I do really want to do some world pvp and maybe even some RP. How are RP-PVP realms? Are they mostly like pvp realms where people just chase the meta, boost, and don’t run dungeons and such? Or is it closer to how some PVE realms are? What NA RP-PVP realms would you guys recommend? Again, the leveling experience is the most important thing to me. Thanks guys!

There is a few boosting garbage on Deviate Delight but overall it’s pretty limited compared to other servers. You can still find people to run every dungeons if you’re a little bit patient.

I have no idea just postiing so I can come back to find out as well

You kind of missed the wave. There are not a whole lot of people leveling anymore and youre bound to find numerous level ranges of dead zone.

Wish you luck though.

If you are interested in pvp allaince maybe the best thing to do is just make a community with likeminded people? I’d be down to join it.

Probably alliance on the most popular server of your region, in an active levelling guild.

From what i’ve seen alliance tends to have more people levelling than horde.

You do not want to join Sulfuras.

So don’t.

Im leveling a tauren war on sulfuras atm, hes 25. Lots of ppl around barrens leveling. So far ive had grps for rfc,wc and sfk.

I play on Deviate Delight and Queb is correct, that there’s very little boosting and other anti-social behavior that goes on. Overall, I love the server and the community, but it is a smaller server, so while levelers run dungeons instead of boosting to infinity, there are fewer of them to be found.

I recently leveled a gnome rogue alt on DD and a troll shaman alt on grob and while Deviate Delight has my favorite server community, Grob was a lot easier to level on because there were simply more people leveling. There were a lot more people spamming for boosts on grob, but in between the spam I also found a lot more people looking for group too. So, there are trade offs in the server size.

In either case, if you are considering either of the two, remember they are RP servers, so while nobody expects you to be in character all the time, make sure to be respectful of the RP vibe on the server. Disruption and griefing of RP is not welcome.

I think Deviate Delight sounds more my speed. Though is the population really small? It would be counter productive if no one is actually leveling obviously. But it seems to me that I might still be able to find a group there, and meet more likeminded people wanting to level and run dungeons and stuff.

Question is the server alliance leaning or horde leaning? I’m really interested but I don’t want to hurt the server’s ecosystem.

It’s smaller, and it has a really healthy population at max level, but it’s certainly not impossible to find groups while leveling, people are leveling, it just takes a little more patience to find groups than on larger servers. Leveling my rogue alt, I ultimately found groups for almost every dungeon at some point…the only one that I was unable to was ulda (I did try several times when I was in that level range).

It is about 60/40 alliance favored…would be nice to get some more horde on the server, but the balance is manageable.

It depends what you consider small. For me Deviate population is just fine. I chose it carefully for many reasons but one of it was that I wanted to avoid mega servers. Too much people kills the vanilla experience in my opinion. But we could use a little more hordes on Deviate to balance things so I’m willing to share information on my server.

I have many alts from various levels and I don’t remember one dungeon I could not find a group for. It’s harder to form a group in the middle of a week day but eventually at peak hours you can find your group.

@Kelvarraf : Surprisingly it seems there is more allies than horde on Deviate. I said surprisingly because in the open world, when I’m farming or leveling my numerous alts, I see much more hordes than allies. All I can think of is that allies are mostly raid logging while hordes like to level alts (my situation).

I’ve had a blast on Grobbulus so far. It is also RP-PVP. I tried Deviate Delight before that and it was really quiet. A bit too quiet for my taste. You’ll definitely notice a lot more people when you’re on Grob.

Herod horde definitely 100% yes ok do it

Bloodsail is pretty good for alliance.

Most of the time it’s groups in LFG, but if you want to have a boost, you can find those too.

I’d avoid Deviate Delight like it’s the plague. Unless you’re a tank or a lvl 60 good luck trying to get a group together specially on none prime time.

Don’t forget DD is an RP realm … that may suit or not

So I’ve already made a character on DD, I am noticing it to be a bit quiet, but I’m trying to figure out if that trade off is worth it to find more likeminded players leveling instead of dungeon cleaving/boosting. Not sure I guess. It would be a pain to start over again, but I haven’t gotten that far.

I wouldn’t mind trying to RP, though it’s not 100% my focus. I just want likeminded players that will help out with dungeons and elite quests instead of spamming for boosts/dungeon cleaves. But I mean, if the population is too low, that might not help in the long run I suppose. I do want it to be a pvp realm, because I like world pvp, but yeah… I’m not sure where else to go to find people who want to level in a more traditional way.

I do believe lfg chat is automatically turned off so you might need to turn it on.

Groups are kinda rare unless you’re in a decent sized guild and I think I can count on one hand the times I’ve grouped up with a person for quests (it was twice). If you’re a tank you can be a god on that server cause barely anyone plays one and you will have people pay 10-20 gold for tanks.

As for Wpvp, it all depends cause it’s around 70% Alliance which is good cause I’ve only been ganked once and it was a failed attempt on a tauren warrior. I’ve killed a few horde while lvln my Priest though. RPing though I’ve yet to see any of that in the 72 hours of playtime on that server.

Doing quests can be a pain but peaceful, it’s nice not fighting over stuff or waiting for respawns but HOLY crap lvln feels empty at times, by times I mean like 90% of the time I can go hours without seeing another Alliance or Horde while lvling.

Whoever suggests DD as a server to play on should be ashamed of themselves, it’s probably the 2nd or 3rd worst server I’ve played on in the last 15 years.

Side note:

I’ve met a few cool/nice people but that honestly doesn’t keep my interest on playing on a server.
