Wont /startattack toggle attack off if you press a different skill? Try /!startattack, that should prevent it from toggling off when you hit another button.

I don’t use /startattack myself, I just right-click like a chump. I was playing reck spec this weekend and never had any issues.

I didn’t think that using it again would toggle but I wasn’t sure, so I logged in and checked. It definitely does not turn it off by the simple test that I did…

  1. Target mob.
  2. Type /startattack. Observed attack ready animation play.
  3. With mob still targetted, type /startattack again. Observed attack ready stance remain.

I also tried throwing it in there between swings to see if I could mess anything up and I couldn’t.

I’d imagine that’s as far as I can go without making some auto-attack macros

@OP - Could you please try it again and distil it down to the simplest test you can, then post some steps and macros? I can give it another go if you just want a second set of eyes for sanity. On Era, at least

Interesting. I know that without the ! Both guns and Wands toggle off if you press it again, so I assumed /startattack worked the same. When I log on later I’ll have to test.

I’m not intending to make any definitive statements about everything as a whole, just reporting what I’ve observed thus far. I’m honestly not sure why guns/wands would need to be different but they are. I think they’re a different macro though, aren’t they?

Anyway, to the OP, wherever this journey takes us, definitely do try to get more info on this. If there’s a bug there, it should be reported. Also, please say what version you’re playing on

If we can confirm the behavour is a bug, you can post over in the appropriate forum.

Anniversary classic, tubbly
and thank you guys, i might just right click and see how it goes since theres not much to press anyway

Haha isn’t that the truth.

Seal Twisting will change your life though! It’s pretty mana intensive but it does add a Righteousness proc to all of your melee swings, which is like an additional 25% per swing. The /startattack macro is actually a part of the optimal Seal Twisting path so you can get one at the start of combat, but I could never be bothered.

Well i just tested two basic macros (on era)

#showtooltip
/cast Seal of Righteousness
/startattack

And the same with seal of light.

Both worked fine, starting attack and never interrupting it during combat. I tried switching /startattack to before the seal cast with no change in outcome.

If I get a chance later I’ll hop onto my anniversary paladin and see if anything is different there.

the big point is when i swap from command to righteousness or vice versa
when i wanna twist, the AA stops triggering even tho both my seals has startattacks
even when i judge it is happening

could multiple /startattack inputs reset the swing timer with those macros by any chance?
I have noticed some behavior like that with my /startattack macro even though I don’t seal twist as holy reck

I just took a peek at my kill macro - thought its been months since i pvp’d on xfour i could be wrong - I think it is this one and it assumes you have seal of righteousness already on (for the twist).

#showtooltip Seal of Command(Rank 5)
/cast Seal of Command(Rank 5)
/cast Slayer’s Crest
/startattack

If you are playing reck careful with /startattack in abilities because if you start attack and cancel it, or change targets, it will wipe all your stacks.

With /startattack for some reason I experience this also, I use it likely for the same reasons you do.

Something kinda wonky has been broken with Auto attack for a while, I notice it on all melee, its not just a paladin problem.
