Problem: There are several situations where reckoning will fail,
namely if you are stunned or otherwise cc’d, and if the enemy is out of range.
This can be a spell crit or a melee crit. There are several situations where this will fail, namely if you are stunned or otherwise cc’d, and if the enemy is out of range.
Ending a Duel
Mounting up (including gryphons)
Autoattacking too early (e.g. from out of range)
Switching Continents
Switching Weapons
Losing control of your character (Fear, Scattershot, Blind, Polymorph, Mind Control, etc.)
EVIDENCE:
Autoattacking from far shouldnt remove reckoning
Reckoning isnt removed when attacking out of range with auto attack
Rogues stuns should not remove reckoning bomb without Autoattacking (I also have proof of reckoning not being affected WITH autoattacking)
Reckoning isnt removed from the rogue stun
when the rogue was attacking from almost behind. Combat log shows 3 crits made by the rogue that came AFTER the afflicted by cheap shot message. The paladin got 5 melee hits on the rogue when he should of only got 4 melee hits. We have to reset the reckoning charges from Cheap Shot in the combat log assuming stuns reset charges. Therefore you count the crits that come after the being afflicted by Cheap shot.
Without autoattack
-Weapon swap-
Reckoning should not be removed by weapon swap in 1.12.2
Thesame uploader commenter and player MajorMayhemX of the video in 1.12.2 who wrote the autoattack comment 1 year before the weapon swap comment had this to say:
Reckoning: Granted you an extra attack eack time u got struck critical. while not auto-attacking u could store up to 4 of those bonus attacks and release them upon activating autoattack in melee range, thus granting u an instant 4-5 Hit Combo regardless of weapon speed. Reckoning with AP/Crit Gear and high Max Damage 2hander = Insane One Shot Action… Woulda like to see the old reckoning with those 500+ max damage bazookas in action

Every crit you received charged you up with “reckoning attack”, up to a maximum of 4. So you could heal yourself while wearing 1h+shield and then switch to a 2h weapon and get 4-5 swings at once.
Even if swapping weapons did affect reckoning before, it shouldnt according to MajorMayhemX in late patch.
But Blizzard doesn’t want to give us VANILLA, they want us to play Classic WoW with fake batching and a Leeway mechanic that’s flat busted.
Sure it may play that way in local area network testing on their very questionable “reference server” but in actual Vanilla play Leeway was something that was intended to be undetected and un-noticed by the player.
Spell batching in Vanilla also worked different and did not include the plethora of issues presented by this artificial batching.
Your reckoning being busted is just a sign that Blizzard does not truly care about authenticity, but only about what they want Classic wow to be.
IF this were REAL VANILLA WoW even 1.12, 5-8 Kiting would be possible VS warriors, but since it’s “Classic 2019” I can get melee cleaved and auto attacked from Mars…
They keep removing and locking reckoning threads so I’m guessing this also will get deleted soon. Anyway lets see how reckoning works after Tuesdays reset before making more of these threads since I got a feeling that they will be giving temp bans to certain enthusiastic individuals if you keep this on.
I can link proof right now showing stuns shouldnt affect a paladin if their auto attack is off. I also found proof that polymorph didnt stop reckoning.
Rogues stuns should not affect reckoning bomb ( I have proof of with autoattack as well)
No Autoattack

You can store up to 5 Reckonings and your seals won’t deal extra damage for each added attack. Reckoning itself wasn’t changed until patch 2.0.1 during Burning Crusade where any form of damage had a 10% chance to activate it. So most you can you really do is swing up to max of 6 swings (average being 4 and one seal hit). But the video doesn’t show this player (from back in 06) having anything other his intended target for his Reckoning targeted.
In that Shafer video, how does something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBnhhzOjCdQ&feature=youtu.be&t=574 happen?
The paladin gets Kidney Shotted, builds 3 recks according to the counter while auto-attack is on, but the only damage done on the next auto-attack swing is 617 crit+71 sor, and the rogue goes down 16% which would be about 4300 health. Were the other two dodged/parried? It would be nice if we had the combat log for all these…
E: Later on in that same fight, he does multiple attacks with reck after getting stunned, but his auto-attack is turned off during the stun. Watching some of the other linked videos, if they have aa toggled on when in stun they don’t get extra attacks but if they have aa toggled off they do.
Good feedback team. Keep these coming. I have a start attack macro built into my judgement which was apparently dropping my reckoning stacks mid fight. From these videos this shouldn’t be the case.
