I can see that im in the newcomer chat channel but i dont ever see anyone talking in it, and if itry to talk in it nothing appears.
Also, I don’t like how it has shifted over my channels, /1 has been for general and /2 has been for trade for like 13 years now, newcomer is /1 now and has shifted everything other, is it possible to change this? I see no setting to do this and I can’t leave the newcomer chat and re-add it. This a bug?
I haven’t had this issue, nor heard of it. Sounds like a pretty unique case. I would try leaving the guide program and re-entering it to see if that does anything. (Reset your other channels before you get back in or it will probably set itself back to /1. Default channels are /1 General, /2 Trade, and /3 Localdefense)
Generally the only time a new channel will occupy one of those 3 channel slots is if you left said channel for whatever reason, so make sure all three of those are in fact active as well.
If that doesn’t work and you still can’t see anything happening in the channel, try a full UI reset.
Do keep in mind that signing up as a guide is per character. It’s not account wide. So if you signed up on a level 60 and you’re playing this level 39 you’re posting on, this one will not be in the newcomer’s channel by default. Not sure why, account wide sign up makes sense to me, but that’s the way it is.
Also it has been channel 4 for me. Not new just no sub.
Also was on new player realms.

Yeah something is definitely wrong, I stopped being a guide, had to /leave general, trade and localdefense and rejoin them to get them to their correct default values.
Now newcomer is /4 but I still can’t see anyone talking in it nor can I type any message in it…oh well I guess? I can see dozens of players in the Chat Channels list when I click on it. Not sure why I can’t send or see messages in it.
Did you try the UI reset yet?

You’ll likely get an automatic response telling you to try the things I’ve already suggested. When you get that email, just select at the bottom that your issue was not resolved and it will escalate it to a GM. They should be able to get your issue sorted out.
