Due to my previous post being removed for some unknown reason, I’ll make a more PC friendly thread.
I feel the nerf to Scorpids was warranted, BUT the general pet nerfs were not. We are a pure dps class we bring nothing else and now we are trash. We are basically an era hunter now while all other classes are unique.
Our no1 damage ability is Auto Shot, arcane shot Is Terribad aswell as SS.
Ill say it again, making you the #1 dps class is not a solution. Your class is the easiest in the game, play something with more risk if you want more reward.
And I’ll say it again, buff Lone Wolf rune, it’s the only rune in the game that literally makes your character weaker than having no rune at all.
Comparing to no rune at all, it makes you do less dps in pve, it makes you worse in pvp doing less damage and without spell pushback on casters and it makes you worse at farming mobs
They just deleted an entire spec with those nerfs. I came back to wow to be an BM hunter. I liked the runes and thought it would be good. I’m not someone that changes their class 100x over.
Well now I feel like I’ve wasted 2 weeks. Probably roll a demo warlock to see if I like it, but I’ve unsubbed.
Again, reinforcing what Totta already replied to you before: we DON’T want to be #1, rogues and warriors are already ahead of hunters. the point was never being #1, i don’t know why you’re insisting on that.
Personally, i just want FUN runes that are viable, feel impactful and shake up our gameplay, like most other classes got. We’re mostly upset right now that, nerf after nerf, Hunter now mostly plays out exactly like Vanilla, you know?
Today’s changes are excellent. We’re no longer locked into a single ugly pet if we want to “optimize” our damage uptime. Sure there will be new BiS pets, but the gap between them won’t be as abysmal as it was with the scorpid. We can pick whatever pet we fancy and deal relatively similar damage now, this is simply a win for every hunters.
Moreover, the Lion’s changes are massive, we don’t have to give up the iconic aspect of the Hawk anymore, which considering that Auto-attack are always physical classes’ main damage (this is classic, it’s intended) felt horrible not to be able to pick.
Bruh everyone’s rotation is clicking 1 button or letting auto attack do all your dmg, but the class which has melee weaving is the “braindead spec” ???
This isnt a good counter arguement. This is Classic every class is the easiest class. Almost every class ends up having 1-3 buttons max that they use except maybe cooldowns. and that probably isn’t gonna change by level 60. You’ll probably have 1 or 2 extra buttons to press when off cooldown.
Side note (because of rude comments) Hunters make wonderful farmers. I always have a side hunter to go get some sort of matt rq.
You dont have to be so rude. Honestly, you act like this is real life or something, its a game. I love traming pets, traming rares, hiding in stealth for pvp.
Hunters are fun, try fun.
If anything hunter is the most attention focused one, we have to watch where we position ourselves, watch what our pet is doing at all time, watch our weapon swing timer.
Our rotation might not be much but we have to keep a close eye on the tank to know where he is gonna move for mechanics, to make sure that we are far enough too shoot, but not in the dead zone. While we are doing any movement we gotta focus on our weapon swing timer and stop right before it goes off to keep up our DPS. We need to make sure our pet doesn’t do anything like pull ADDS, or if their is a raid mechanic that will kill it, turn it on passive, when it gets out of the raid mechanics range click on stay, wait for the mechanic to end and send it back in. We also gotta check to make sure we have arrows all the time.
This isnt retail where we can just constantly move and shoot, and don’t have a dead zone from where we can fire, and don’t have to worry about arrows. If there is any version of WoW where you wanna claim hunters are ez mode, it’s not classic. If we are doing mechanics we constantly have to do it correctly to optimize our DPS, we don’t just stop attacking all together until we finished avoiding mechanics.
Casters can just get close and fire and stop doing any damage until they avoid mechanics, melee can just stay behind boss the whole time, and move around it and attack.
But rotation wise no class is difficult, it’s always the same thing to optimize damage, the most you gotta memorize is like pressing the same 1-4 buttons in an order, and popping cooldowns when they are up. And nowadays there are addons that tell you what button to press next anyway.
Dude, this is Classic. No classes are hard. I always have to take some time to adjust to the complexity and speed of Retail after a long session of Classic.
I’d argue that the wonky Pet AI actually adds unintended difficulty btw.
