Receiving messages while blocked

Can someone explain to me why this is a thing? Someone blocked me while harassing me. When I attempted to whisper them back it said they were no longer playing, but they continued to whisper me at the same time.

If someone chooses to block you for whatever reason, they shouldn’t be able to continue whispering you. It is the same thing on HotS where there is a feature or something that stops people from being able to message you after a game, but allows you to message them if you feel like it. Sending a message should break the block.

It is just sort of silly when some fragile troll blocks you so that they can continue to harass you without you getting your two cents in. In HotS for example, it just emboldens trolls to try and harass you after the game because they don’t have to worry about you snapping back. The same sort of thing just happened to me in WoW.

Maybe I’m just misunderstanding how this works or there is some other reason it is better off working as it does?

Yeah, the system is beyond annoying. I honestly don’t understand why you are able to message someone you’ve blocked, especially since most people who do so just use it as a means of arguing without the worry of a counterargument.

Why would you talk to anyone who was harassing you? Ignore and move on.

In case you were unaware, your ignore list is finite.

And?

If you are seriously being harassed by so many people that it fills your ignore list up, then perhaps it is time to consider how you approach your conversations.

Oh, I don’t get harassed by that many people. None at all, in fact. Most of the time when i encounter people who do this, it is because they don’t have the slightest clue on how to play and get mad when they are called out. Nice try though, boo. :kissing_heart:

Nice try at what?
You are the one concerned about filling your ignore list.

This. I go by the common denominator theory.
I’ve been playing this game since about 6 months before BC came out and I have a grand total of 2 people on my ignore list. Both of which from so long ago that I doubt they even play any more.

Yup, it’s your attitude.

I don’t have a single person on my ignore list. In-game or otherwise. It doesn’t change the fact that the ignore list is finite, which means you can only ignore so many people. Again, nice try.

This isn’t true either.

If you have been playing the game for over a decade you are bound to run out of room. You do know how long a decade is, right?

I believe that someone can put you on ignore, but ocntinue to whisper you.

To the OP.

If you are in fact having issues with a “full ignore” list, you can also go in once a month and delete anyone on it. Unless they are logging in every day just to take another run at you, how likely is it you will see messages from them ever again?

If you can’t handle being called out for doing something stupid, don’t do something stupid in the first place. :smirk:

Or you can be a human being with a little decency and explain to them what is wrong.

I mean, I know that’s hard - being nice.

I want to know what you think I am trying to do. This is your second reference to something. As if you think my replying to you is meaningful in anything other than you replied to me.

And if you ignore file ever did get full, you can remove names from it. So the effect of it is perpetual, unless you are somehow getting far more harassment than I would hope for anyone.

Not there to hold your hand. If you want your hand held, join a learning run for the content you are doing. People even take constructive criticism, like “Avoid the obvious AoE on the ground” like you just insulted their mother.

Lol the responses to this thread

No, but don’t act like people don’t mess up.

Maybe instead of saying “Avoid the obvious AoE on the ground” you can say, “Avoid the AoE on the ground, it kills”.

See how much easier that comes off. Again, it’s your attitude - keep showing it.

On the topic of proper ignore protocols instead of whatever Grizelda is yammering about…

I still find it disappointing that Blizz has never implemented Account Wide Ignore. There are people who will swap to other characters just so they may continue being jack-holes. It would be nice to block them once and be done.
