Rebuke talent upgrade option

Is it too much to ask for a talent option to upgrade rebuke from melee to ranged interrupt? DKs got our pony, we should get their ‘mind freeze ability’

There are plenty of adds in m+ that jump out of melee range and/or stand in aoe circle zones. I don’t think it will create an imbalance if we get granted ranged interrupt.

Overall game devs did a fantastic job with ret pally. It’s a lot of fun and feels so dynamic.

We’re suppose to be a melee class.

We had an extended kick after the rework and it felt pretty good.

They removed it at the start of TWW saying they were cracking down on melee extensions so that melee classes felt more cohesive.

I don’t know why they would flip-flop again so soon, much less a full blown range interrupt.

Too bad we have too many ranged skills in ret that the community don’t really considers it melee. Kek.

That’s apparently the trade off for not being mobile/no gap closer. :confused:

But it remains that not being in melee is a significant loss.

I wouldn’t mind this. Sucks to have to move in just to interrupt.

That doesn’t make any sense. Pretty much all our non dmg abilities are ranged except rebuke.

DKs even have a ranged interrupt and stun. I specifically mentioned DKs because they are related to Paladins.

Melee class means you deal dmg in melee range. Nothing else. If our non dmg abilities would be melee range only how would that be any useful in raid or m+?

Ranged interrupts would not make ret pallys op nor would it create any imbalance. It would simply improve the game play.
Once you push keys above +15 you can’t afford missing an interrupt just because the add jumps away/to another player or you need to move away from the add because aoe dmg circles. You become unreliable. In +15 or higher keys you easily get one shot if you miss an interrupt and this creates a high chance to brick the key because it’s vital to have everyone alive during big pulls. And before each run the tank assigns you to kick star, diamond, skull etc. Why would a tank want to bring our class to higher keys if we can’t be reliable on interrupts?

DKs have pet stun, mind freeze, asphyxiate, blinding sleet, grip and abom to prevent a cast from going through.

A 10-15 yard rebuke is very reasonable so it’s not like a wide range but large enough to become a more reliable class in crucial pve moments
