Reasons why battle of azeroth went wrong

1- Azeroth gear, timegated, delusional level requirements
later nerfed
2- Orcs represented by Saurfang, old, weak serving as a message that orcs’ era is over
3- Dazar’Alor horde main city navigation, terrible in all forms, aesthetic to gameplay
4- Sylvanas as warchief,
Even though the war between alliance and horde is beautiful and captivating, it loses most of its value if the leader of the horde is an undead who absolutely does not represent any value of the orcs, WAR WITHOUT ORCS ARE NOTHING.

Consider that BFA is a juicy chocolate mousse cake and sylvannas is a savory hamburger that they placed on top of this cake thinking it would be compared to a strawberry

Don’t get me started. :grimacing:

I…. Am I the only one that liked how complex it was? Lol

Well considering that they took the majority of player feedback and made Oribos super simple and easy to navigate, I’d say yes, you are one of the few.

But keep in mind that most people HATED Oribos, so it was not necessarily a good thing.

Ok I’ll give you that one. Well, expect the bit about aesthetic. It’s beautiful.

I didn’t like it, but I don’t blame BfA for that one.

Personally I loved the hell out of that expansion. Azerite gear was dumb and poorly thought out, but it didn’t ruin my day.

Also BfA had the best version of enhancement shamans ever, and I will fight you over it.

i didn’t know about that, oribos is fine for me… yet oribos still has navigation problems, everything looks so similar at a point i never know where i was lol

At launch azerite gear were literally unplayable, level requirements was garbage

for me, sylvanas is 80% of all reasons combined on why BFA went wrong

systems.
systems
more systems.

Thats why I hated BFA and SL

It felt like an actual rpg city. Large, complex. First learning, you needed that map. Loved it.

I didn’t think it was that bad. Some of the powers were lame. But the concept was fun.

BFA failed cuz it was 3 expansions in one.

That was one of the complaints people had. The areas, the NPCs, the rooms, they all looked exactly the same to most. The only real distinction between rooms were little signs that no one ever looked at. You had to memorize where things were, because if you spun in a circle quickly and tried to find something, you’d be lost immediately, without referencing the map.

All the professions were in one spot, it was in the middle of an endless void, there was nothing to do. It’s why people compared it to an airport. You just go there when you need to go somewhere else. There’s no real reason to want to be there, so most people weren’t. They’d either be in Org or SW most of the time.

The reason the devs came up with Oribos, like I said, was player feedback. Alliance, even Horde who have played Alliance, LOVED Boralus. I was one of those people. It was everything Oribos could never be. It was an amazing little zone and was actually pleasant to visit.

Everything was in one spot, but it all looked and felt different. It was beautifully designed and felt comfy. The only thing that sucked getting to was the barber, but boohoo. Even today, if I have an alt I left in Boralus, I look around a little bit before I go back to SW.

The devs wanted to recapture that feel with Oribos, acting as the exact opposite to the Horde hub, but it was just a disaster. I think it may have felt a little better, were they able to implement the portals they wanted to do, instead of flight paths, but it’s neither here nor there.

Yeah, I can’t see the orcs ever allowing a non-orc to be their warchief. I don’t care what they try to write into the story its just not believable with how orc culture is structured.

Warchief is an orc title, in an orc city, with orc customs, but the horde has no relevant orcs, this is the level of decadence of modern writing

That’s just because they spend all their development time writing femboy dragon character or whatever, and don’t want to write in new orc characters, because since getting sued they’re terrified of portraying strong male characters. Orcs as originally themed are antithetical to modern Blizzard. Even Saurfang, a generally okay character who at least embodies some aspects of orc culture, was the trope of the “old toxic male who needs to pass the reigns to the new modern generation” which is used very often in movies and other media.

So our expectations about WoW future should be:

male: sorry, im weak and conflicted
female: i know everything what must be done, follow me

Correct, and then the female “hero” acts like an egomaniacal villain and does evil stuff while the writers are seemingly unaware of the difference because they have no concept of morality. Basically, post-2019 American media in a nutshell.

The cinematic of war within has probably already dazzled us with part of the future

Thrall and Anduin weak.

Xal’atath smart and powerful villain.

Nostalgia-bating by having Sylvanas shout, “For the Horde!” just felt completely forced and out-of-place; something that was completely out of character for her. Just…Her being Warchief period, felt completely out-of-place. I don’t understand why they shoe-horned her in to becoming Warchief. There was literally no reason for it beyond having Vol’jin just say, “Yeah, dead guys spoke in my ear and they told me Sylvanas should take my place.” I only drew correlation between her rising popularity due to being in Heroes of the Storm as being the main reason why they were pushing her so much.

Exactly!
It’s crazy and delusional to believe that someone took that seriously

I like the pyramid in theory but would it have killed them to put the crafters and the portal room down in front so we didn’t need a flight point to navigate?

If they did it that way and maybe put the loa npcs at the top of the pyramid it could have been really cool.
