Reasons I finaly stopped playing WoW after 10+ year

Heya WoW community,

I just wanted to share my thoughts on how WoW changed for only bad over the past years, and why I finaly decided to unsubscribe and uninstall the game after all these years.

WoW is now just like a CoD game, it’s all about Raid, M+ and Arena and that’s about it. Doing anything else is more or less pointless. Dornogal is nothing more than a wait lobby, from which you get your gear (potions, consumable), and then you sit there and you apply on groups that don’t take you anyway (Unless you are a tank). There a no more accomplishment feeling for doing anything else than the three content I just mentionned.

The transmog aspect of the game has become almost completely pointless, since we see players less and less. There is no more on ground traveling, there is no down time where you enjoy looking at players, look at the environment… People just teleport, either using the dungeons portals… Just like a matchmaking game that spawn you in a map. People they spawn their flying mount and fly away at speed of light, so you just don’t see them, they disapear.

Mythic+ should not have timer anymore, and bear with me, I was an avid high IO M+ Player. The timer bring a large part of the toxicity, it’s fast paced. WoW should not be a fast paced game, where do that come from ? Keys should be difficult, but you should have all the time to complete it, without being a race. Unable to complete the key ? A vote option to downscale the key and reward while doing it should be available, to have less quitters. It would enforce cooperation since there would be more patience. More time to chat with groups, make strategy, talk. People would be less frustrated about the tank and their route and strategy, just because tanks don’t have time to explain what they plan to do.

Again, rewards are about only around Raids and M+, there should be the same type of reward to other type of content, maybe crafting, maybe chains of quest / achievements. Spread the players around all WoW content.

How much time of my life I waisted applying on groups in the queue finder and not getting picked even with a great Raider io sheet ? For that type of content I believe WoW should integrate a smart automatic group creation tool, a little bit like Dungeon finder, but smarter. As leader you could set your criteria, what you want in your key, you check the buffs you want and then it creates a group. So less favoritsm and picking top io player applying to a queue and having DPS players unable to get in a group. Of course you’d have the option to create your own groups with friends, but no more posting a queue.

WoW has definitively lost it’s MMO essence, it became more a solo/multiplayer game. Only specific unpleasant, toxic filled content gets you rewards and making your character progress. It’s face paced, server sharding makes the environment boring, you see less and less people, you don’t have to cooperate and meet people like an MMO is for.

WoW tokens has scrapped the in game economy, there is no need to farm, to find ways to make money, to diversify your game time through economic aspects, to get satisfied of making good money. You can spawn money whenever you want.

Flying mounts has scrapped the artistic environment, no one cares about decor and ambiance anymore, you’re just always in the air, traveling from point A to point B as fast as possible. The game lets you go so fast, too fast. No more immersion traveling through landscape.

As for the subscription, I was 100% fine with paying a monthly sub, because in return I had service (When GMs existed), I had a top quality and bugless game, it had good uptime and server stability. All of the above or less and less true.

Sorry for the negative post, and my broken english.

I’m hopeful to find a better WoW in a future, or me to find a better MMORPG to fill this gap in my gamer aspect.

Cheers !
