Reason for no updates

I feel at this point what we can actually infer, is that the bulk of the work is making vanilla work with 7.3.5. That’s why there isn’t many updates and why nothing much is getting said. If the game was to launch on the original 1.12 it would have been done months after announcement. The reason we aren’t getting big philosophy decisions is because they aren’t made yet, the entire huge bulk of the work is undoubtedly just trying to get 7.3.5 to look like vanilla. Which is why they joked, oh do you want us to tell you when we fix a lamp or something small, because that’s all they are more than likely doing. I think the real fight was honestly already lost when we accepted 7.3.5 and no actual patch progression. (I think alot of the magic of growing with your character is lost if we just play a 1.12 private server) And unfortunately I want to trust blizzard but I kinda don’t, I think the main reason for using 7.3.5 is to eventually, maybe not 1 year in maybe not 2 or 3 but eventually enable a cash shop and that’s why they are working so hard to make 7.3.5 look like vanilla. Also enable a LFR, LFG, and all the conveniences modern wow has. They are thinking long term profit efficiency.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. So don’t spend the effort. That’s plenty of explanation for me.

Trying to infer what silence from a development team means is a silly and useless endeavor for the most part.

It could be any number of reasons as to why they don’t update us, and nobody making a guess has anything to back up anything they think is going on. It’s pure wild speculation.

I feel like its actually just listening to what they told us and what they are telling us now.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we got a cash shop ( Not that I want it, I’m actually completely against it except for maybe pets cuz Idc if people have store bought companions ) but I don’t think they’ll ever add LFR/LFG to classic. I’m sure just about everyone that wants Classic does not want LFR/LFG and anyone who tries to request them on the forums is likely trolling.

Sure they can add cash shop, just like I can add a different realm in my realm list file.

Im just trying to think from a perspective of Ion or J allen brack. I just feel like they dont think classic will be anything, I would of loved a hyped classic from blizz, getting vin diesel and other celebs to promote it. I just feel they are long term thinking how to roll classic into the current wow.

First post is a thread saying that Classic will have a cash shop and lfr and lfd. There’s a word for threads like this…

The thing is that it’s still wild speculation. You admit you have no reason to think any of this other than because you “feel” like that’s how it would be.

Though you also admit that you don’t trust Blizzard anymore, which naturally leads to the way you feel they’ll handle things is automatically in a very negative way.

Which is why I say it’s silly. These threads typically come across as people trying to convince themselves with no evidence that Blizzard is going to ruin Classic, simply because they want to(whether they admit it or not) believe that modern Blizzard is bad.

The reason for no updates is because Blizzard learned years ago not to give out information to soon. If they do that, and then something changes, everyone will get on them for that.

Years ago, Blizzard decided to be more open about decisions. They put a blue thread on the forum where you could put the top 3 things that you had problems with. After 2-3 weeks the thread was closed, and the top XX of inputs they took were answered.

After the first month, Blizzard was unmerciless nailed to the wall about things. Guess what, the second month, nothing. That program was never again active, it was not officially cancelled, but it just died. Anyone posted a thread and asked what happened, no blue ever answered it.

That’s the reason they never ever give a date when something will be released. Or didn’t you notice that Classic will be released this summer - that gives them a 3-4 month margin without lying about the date. If something delays the release date, they’ll give us a new “window.” But nothing firm.

Not till they’re ready. When we get a date, that’s when Classic is ready for release.

Ion actually does seem a bit interested in Classic, J Allen Brack not so much…but if they’re looking to keep the game alive, adding things like a cash shop / LFR / LFG would be the absolute worst way of doing so. Blizzard has done a lot of dumb things over the years but even still I can’t see them screwing up this badly. I want updates just as much as you do man but I’m just keeping it cool and remaining patient, I actually think we’ll get an update in March, srs.

Im not really trying to degenerate and of course this is my opinion i dont have insider knowledge, but i can use the information at my disposal to for an educated opinion at least. Im just kind of confused by blizzard quite a bit, i dont want info i want hype, I want my mom to see a commercial with vin diesel or something so i can more easily convince her to play her first ever video game with me.

the person says they don’t trust activision/blizzard (with their track record, why should people…) and says they wouldn’t be surprised if they added those things for money reasons. the person wasn’t asking for anything.

there are some people who really need to learn how to read around here.

A lot of it isn’t even really an educated guess as much as it’s just you projecting your distrust of Blizzard onto things.

Which granted it’s entirely fair to not trust Blizzard at this point, but it doesn’t make thinking they’re going to add a cash shop and work it into modern WoW an educated guess.

Though as far as why they aren’t hyping it up, that’s not even a guess of any kind: Blizzard already said at the quarterly investor meeting they have no major releases in 2019 planned and Bornakk confirmed that WoW Classic is still coming out in the summer.

That’s just straight up admitting they don’t think Classic WoW is a major product for them.

I know some people want to think Classic WoW will bring millions of players back to the game, but they really don’t see it that way.

Avoiding oversize mounts would be half my reason for using Classic, so they better not include that part of the cash shop. I couldn’t care less if they let people use tokens for gold; gold buying was rampant in Vanilla anyway.

Here we see clearly a post where if we analyze it carefully and deeply, we can see that from the different points of discrepancy and comparison we can reach the central idea that moves away from the main argument, from which we conclude that this comment does not It makes no sense at all. Maybe it’s not important for many of you and it gets lost among the other comments, most will not read it, maybe it will be criticized and eventually be forgotten, but anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I’m selling empanadas

Well the part im trying to be educated on is the guessing as to the real reason they are using 7.3.5. And what the convo top blizzard had determining classic. And i think it went, We will get people back who want to do thing they have never done and people who want to relive it. Ok thats good for 2 years maybe. But we want it to be monetarily realistic for many more years, so the obvi decision I think is to make it something current wow players enjoy in the future. its the safe bet in my eyes, and even if they are wrong and it does take over the world (insanely unlikely i know) they just dont add those things.

I just really feel blizzard is missing a very unique market, me personally I have my Sister, brothers, uncle who used to play everquest back in the day no games now. All people who back in the day didnt game back when it was taboo. But they dont want to get into a current game they are too crazy for them. I feel like blizzard could really do well marketing classic to those who are older.

Go watch the WoW Classic Blizzcon Panel. They literally go over this.
