Rearranging and Removing Portals

i think you’re remembering wrong.
you didn’t get to choose what you wanted to do as the daily random heroic.
…you couldn’t select the pool of dungeons which you wanted.

sure, when i was the only one alive after a lot of pulls, and was at around 80% damage for most of the runs.

(yes, i was insanely overgeared, but the reward for the daily actually made it worth doing… even though i can’t remember what the reward was… probably a bunch of badges or something??)

what sort of options were available then, which aren’t available now?

Hey Blizzard.
Didnt you say you were going to put the CoT portal back into the game?
Where is it at?
Been some time now.
You just stalling hoping that we’ll stop yelling about it?

This is true, this go,go mentality as gotten to be pretty ridiculous these days .I have more (don’t want to use the word) fun the other day doing normal motherlode with a guilde and learned more than just running through it with the gung ho go go attitude.

Uh… no they didn’t.

Sadly, while I hate the attitude, I can’t call it ridiculous in the current game. The system encourages, incentivizes, and even mandates that attitude. That’s why dungeons just aren’t fun for me in BFA. I want to enjoy my dungeon run, not rush through it every day on the clock.

Still haven’t put the portals back yet? How about that CoT portal, it back yet? I’m betting the answer is no on both accounts.

Semper Fi! :us:

That makes zero sense. There are some tier sets that I love and some that I hate. However, the bonuses is what we collect them for, as those bonuses helped us progress through the game.

Take a look at a timeline comparison between Legion and BFA. People were kept busy during Legion, which is why they did not level alts early on. Collecting Legendaries was huge and it kept people engaged in the game.

Why did this specific change need to happen? It seems to me that if the developers had put more energy into developing actual content vs taking things out of the game, they would attract more people vs annoying those they still have playing.

It does, but you don’t want to see where it connects (which has been discussed at length: namely, that dragging out the time it takes people to get from a to b disguises the already thin amount of content out there…a problem compounded by portals being removed). Also, you don’t want to start discussions on other topics, maybe don’t start them off in the first place with:

Yes, because if I give someone a bowl of sand and call it “cereal” they won’t be happy if I tell them to dig in an pretend it’s lucky charms.

But hey, it’s in a bowl, right?

This. A big difference between the pre wod days and now. When the old wow dev team actually cared about the game and the players, and not about padding their continually falling metrics with strategies they know don’t work, and they know keep pissing off and driving away their players.

Interesting turn today, got a quest to meet Magni in Sholazar and just out of curiosity checked the portal and it appeared for me. I am going back on this character to do class hall things in Legion.

None of the others are visible, but the one to Wyrmrest showed up.

Looks like they indeed fixed it now for people questing in Legion

I have never figured out your insistence that we consider blizzard’s efforts.
So what?
Everyon e works at something or other; I really don’t need to know the who/how/what of things like games. ‘DO I like them’ is really the only issue.
‘‘If a game’s not fun, then why bother?’’ THAT is the question Blizzard needs to remember, when thinking about players.

Blizzard’s shackles are light, and often encouraged by their fans.

Personally, I’m playing less since GCD, portal-flub, and now the impending strider nerf.

Which portal was that? Wyrmrest? Going to org and waiting for the borean tundra Zeppelin would probably have been faster. Org>old Dalaran definitely faster.

Curious to see if the Karazhan portal reappears for the quests in that area, given that there are now no fast routes left for horde.

I hearthed to Legion Dalaran and went to the Chamber of the Guardian and used the Wyrmrest Temple portal that showed for me.

I am sure I will come across a quest for the the CoT maybe at some point. But I have only had the one to Wyrmrest that I needed to use.

I also am playing a lot less due to all these things as well. probably about half of what I was before all these “great” changes.

so maybe the way around the portal issue is to start quests and never finish them?

Considering they never removed the quest limit cap, that’s a lot of space to keep in your quest log…

Seems by this post that the CoT portal will be in 8.2 as of the latest patch datamining.

I love how they say that it is only the lack of the COT portal and not the removal of all the portals in New Dal. Nice spin.

And Thor only knows what turmoil and strife the MoP temple portals were causing. The horror…the horror.

Those are my fault. I put all my alts there, starting at level 1. They could use any portal there, that’s unacceptable to Blizzard that a nub could use any portal like they can any zeppelin.

so, they’re adding a portal to the caverns… good. but it still begs the question why we have a hearthstone to new dalaran when there’s almost no reason to go there. i mean, if it sent us to our class-hall that’d be one thing, but it does’nt so… it’s pretty-much useless.
