Rearranging and Removing Portals

And yet ,you came in and repeated it which we all know full well it did happen especially with lowbies like you who would port there and make their hearth in Ldal so it would be easier to travel.Right.

Oh btw,who would read 10668 post to find that, you are a joke.

So sorry I didn’t first check with you to ensure my reaction to Blizzard dripping water on my head and telling me it was raining was within acceptable parameters.

thank you for clearing that up.

One of the trolly-spammers was wanting to pretend that it didn’t happen.

also not sure what you mean by “lowbies like you”.
do you understand that i have a bunch of max level characters?
you seem to be under the impression that this is my highest level character.

amazing how there are different expectations… when i ask someone to quote and/or link things which they’re clearly making up, i’m told to read the thread.
When i respond in the same manner, suddenly i’m a joke?
You can’t have it both ways.

perhaps you should be sorry that you didn’t read the agreement you signed.
the game changes.
you agreed that you understand.
your reaction is not that of someone who understands.

Here’s the link to jog your memory.

So, no, you didn’t use the exact phrase “vast majority”. Nor did you give a precise numerical total, so I suppose if that’s the definition you want to use for “quantity” then you’re correct. But you did make a claim that a “large or excessive” number of players claimed to have their hearth set in Legion Dal.

Well its finally happened. I took the pandaland portal that deliberately dumps you at the wrong end of the world just to slow you down. It’s garbage but I’ll have the last laugh yet. Slowing me down just made me cut out goals.

Siege farm for mog and mount: Dropped
World boss farm: Dropped
Idling in my second best expansion: Dropped
Reasons to come to pandaland: Tyrannical vendor

Instead of having two or three reasons to stay subbed, I’ve got fewer. Finishishing my direhorn collection is never going to happen because it’s not worth my time to fly from jade forest across the entire expansion

yes, i know what words mean.
again, thanks for confirming what i said.

???

not sure why people keep trying to pick my comments apart, i was simply regurgitating what has already been posted.

i just park lesser-played alts at spawn points and log to check every now and again.

If you can’t see how saying “a plethora of people” constitutes making a “claim about the quantity of players who put their hearth in Dal”, the perhaps you don’t understand words quite as well as you believe.

But then, you also don’t believe company-wide metrics apply directly to the games produced by that company, so…

it’s the only way if you still want to reward blizzard

I am sure he did not stand around New Dal on each realm and take a survey of the number of people who (on top of having a New Dal hearth) set their personal hearths to that city as well.

For the sake of this argument, let’s say that a plethora of people did set their personal hearths to New Dal so that they would have double access to the portal system in that city.

A customer centric company would recognize the fact that people love the freedom that portal system gave them and would have ensured that the new portal rooms had access to all of the same portals.

correct.

i didn’t do any surveys, and as i said, prior to these threads, had absolutely no idea people chose to put their hearthstone in a location where they already had hearth access.

my observation is based solely on the quantity of people who stated they chose to have 2 hearths in the same location… within these (portal) threads.

more than a few.
a large number.
i didn’t take the time to count as people were posting, i wasn’t aware there would be a questionnaire at a later date.

you sure have a way with twisting words.

try taking things at face value, instead of interpreting or putting your own spin on things.

But, as most of us figured out some time around wod…they stopped being a customer centric company around that time. Right about the time watcher and his ilk started running the show.

Everything they’ve done since then proves they’re a dev centric department right now, doing the bare minimum in actual improvements to the game, while expending their real work in making sure their real efforts are geared toward metric padding to make it look like a lot of people are still playing the game (which includes portal gate, the flying debacle to hide all the shoddy work they did on wod and probably are still doing…notice how we still don’t have a date for part 2), and doing busy work to keep the higher ups from including them in the next round of layoffs.

And you sure have a way with pretending you didn’t say things you said.

only because people keep pretending i said things which i didn’t.

…but thanks for linking those 2 quotes of mine to show that you were being less than honest about what you were pretending i said.

Are people allowed to talk about portals now?

As I said, if you can’t figure out how saying “a lot of people do the thing” constitutes making a claim about how many people do the thing, then I can’t help you.

It seems to me that they should bring back all the most popular features from anywhere and anytime in the game’s history and see what that does for their precious metrics and job stability.

THIS is what THEY DON’T SEEM TO REALIZE. Forcing us (WHICH IS JUST TERRIBLE, even if you call it “encouraging” us to do something by removing stuff, which is disgustingly manipulative) to spend time in central or current areas of that’s ALREADY not where we want to be is NOT going to produce favorable results.

Man I HATE having to go to Org for a portal ANYWHERE. It’s lag central and ugly af. I have NO idea why they kept the architectures from the warchief the players found so unpopular the company was forced to dethrone him. (Of course they still pick things like the mag’har questline to remind us that they consider his failure as a character OUR fault not his.)

As I write this, I show 10,683 replies, so I feel like my response will be left drowned out and useless but I still feel the need to add my input.

Because if I were Blizzard, and I truly felt the need to make some random change and “move forward” then THIS is how you do it:

Remove all the old portal rooms like you did, add the new portal room like you did… EXCEPT THAT YOU ALSO add three more portals …

THAT THE PLAYERS CHOOSE WHERE THEY GO.

Blizz would probably argue that’s “too much freedom” or some nonsense. Ok, then my compromise would be to give the player a choice of, say, 10-12, but from that list they could only choose 3. Do SOMETHING that not only keeps the sense of freedom in the game, but doesn’t just shut everything down.

It could even be part of the story. The mages in that room are “training” in keeping portals open. Some are apprentices and in needing more practice, you get to determine what portal they’re going to open so that they can practice.

If you’re creative, you can do anything. That’s the Blizzard of the late 90s and early 2000s that created and DEFINED a genre with an amazing game. This new Blizzard? They just remove content and say “this is great, you’ll love this.” Why is a game company, so focused on removing FUN??

…u w0t m8?
yes.
i said a lot of people do the thing.
no, i did not give a specific number, because i don’t have a specific number.
as i said, i didn’t know i was going to need to count for a questionnaire.
…and even if i did count, it still doesn’t represent much.
Only a teeny percentage of players post here.

Regardless, I’m not sure why you’re trying to hijack the thread just because you’re struggling with a word… imagine the backlash i’d get if i did the same thing to the mage who says he’s plowing the conversation, while I can’t plowing anything related to portals.

this… i like this.

Because they’re letting a lawyer define fun. This shift clearly started through the course of Wrath, and Ion arrived on-scene just before Wrath launched. An easy fix to -all- this debacle would be to take the various hearthstone-alternative items off shared destination, shared CD and any seasonal status and make them scaling heirlooms…but that would be too much fun.

Bringing back the guild perk summon would also help…also too much fun.

Every time SOMETHING is FUN, SOMEONE over there decides it shouldn’t be, and that a more frustrated playerbase will actually be a happier playerbase.

We’re not one half of a legal disagreement. We’re not a jury. We’re not a judge. We’re videogamers. We want fun. Get rid of the lawyer, Blizz, and send anyone whose opinions he’s poisoned with him.

Laying off the yak and keeping this guy is showing the playerbase just how out of touch you are with your customers.

AAAAH! IT’S HAPPENING. SOMEONE WON OVER THE BULL IN THE PINK DRESS!

In all seriousness on the matter, I don’t know why hearth items can’t just go off shared CD instead, but if they MUST make me go to Org, any number of customizable portals would be nice consolation.
