I was originally here because I wanted to know more about the change. The reasons I stayed is because of the insane amounts of flawed arguments, something I really can’t resist responding to, and because I hate leaving people that are talking to me hanging.
Another reason I stayed is because I love this game and i love the direction it is going, and seeing people attack it with insane reasoning is annoying.
Indeed. But the fact that 97% of my friends have left is giving me incentive to leave as well. They can only strongarm players so much with their anti-cunsumer practices.
Yeah, absolutely! A lot of my friends quit as well. I have friends who still play and you know, we play together, do stuff in game as a squad. Doesn’t make the changes that they’ve implemented in the last couple of expansions any better.
See, this only makes sense in Vanilla WoW, FOURTEEN YEARS AGO, The world used to small enough, basic enough, and within the guidelines of how other MMOS worked at the time that this was a fine principle. When wow was just 2 parallel continents with easily defined content maps and there was no “old expac” to go back to then flight paths and city portals were fine.
We now have 4 planets, 7 continents and 7 expansions since vanilla. Your principle is outdated in itself, we have seen the world for nearly 15 years. Its not going to feel bigger or smaller anymore unless you add or remove yet more landmass.
You guys have made a mockery of this game, this expansion is rated terribly and the playerbase is constantly at odds with your design with little to no communication and you even fired the people who did communicate. It honestly surprises me you thought this would be an improvement to reduce player options. You deserve the backlash.
Don’t worry, if you charge a fee to port and they are not on a connected realm, which a lot of people might not be, oopsie no deal. Hopefully since mages can’t port to CoT it might be alright. Which is funny because you would think the devs would know there is no mage port to CoT.
Yes I really need to stop, but it is hard for me to resist when people keep asking the same questions. It is always “ok just one last time, he will get it now”. I should definitely stop.
Of course, there is definitely a big disconnect between a lot of the player base and Blizzard. It’s clear nothing will change and their response was simply a ''Tough Tomatoes but we ‘‘hear you’’ ‘’ kind of response.
It’s usually the idea of Ion and whoever comes to these decisions telling themselves that this is how they want the game to be - doubling down on it and hoping people just forget about it.
I’d say we will see an annoyed Ion at a Q&A trolling a little, being snarky while using PR jargon that tries to explain away the change/implementation.
Im POSITIVE that it is.
I love psychology. Had to take a bit for the field Im in. Human behavior is so predictable once you understand what youre dealing with.
I can imagine Ion doing a Q&A about this and it will be a 2 second blip about how we know nothing of what we want and then going on for 10 minutes about fishing or lore. Not that fishing or lore don’t matter, but that was just an arbitrary example of things he’d go on about instead of this.
Its one of the main hobbies of mine, and I’m not used to posting here. On reddit it is easier since the replies take more time, its just a matter of adapting to the new format.
