Rearranging and Removing Portals

Or if they did there would be some kind of catch. A consumable item that is RNG to even get, locked to certain zones, or it’ll be an item with a hefty cooldown.

That’s Blizzard these days.

That’s the amount of Faith and Trust the average player has in the company.

Which of course is a sad thing to consider.

The difference here is that the encounters can be generated randomly and adjusted in real time by the DM to take into account how the players react to these inconveniences. Traveling in WoW has no randomness and their speed in hotfixing bugs is only rapid when it comes to things that benefit players.

The whole world has scaling tech right now. the babysitting would be the same.

And why wouldn’t they do it?

Factually YOU shouldnt be making ANY suggestions since YOU arent the one inconvenienced OR affected by the missing portals by your own admissions in here.
I can understand that thats hard to understand for some.

Also a GM can simply say “the two day journey was uneventful. Save a group of idiotic bandits who tried to attack you. Did they really think they stood a chance when you fight demons before five in the morning?”

I’d be surprised if any of them do.
Aweful obsessed about this topic for someone who claims they arent affected either way by the portal removals.

And the world scaling tech is still hot garbage once you get into WoD. The only reason people don’t complain more about it is because you can almost completely skip WoD by hunting down treasures. Blizzard has shown time and again that they will only put in the bare minimum when it comes to fixing scaling issues.

Wow is D&D share a genre and both are heavily inspired in one another. The developer and the DM both do the same job of designing the inconveniences the players will face, but they do it in different ways.

:joy:
And those MoP portals go to the OLD world…where a level 80-90 would have FLIGHT ALREADY and wouldnt be facing anything on the ground after they ported thru anyway.
Even moreso from legion dalaran

Jesus…

Hot garbage is still better than completely dead and umplayable and it is still better than what we had before.

Yes, these diferences do exist, but this is not relevant to the main argument of “their job is to select what inconveniences are present in the game”.

You are taking away the portals to older content, making it less likely that people will go there.
The world will not have a “sense of a meaningful size”, it will be narrowed down to the one place with portals, and the 4 places the portals go to, please don’t do this.
You’re only punishing the lower level characters with this decision as they can’t access the new zone with the portals yet.

You do realize you have said the same thing 3 time to other people ,the cut an paste is amazing especaily the nitpicking at the end. In order to have the system changes you’ll have first find from a sequence of coding in a program remove or interject another code to get the finial result. That could be pages long. and it’s not a button.

The fact that this not affect me does not prevent me in any way to express ideas about it. stop replying to me repeating this, I’ve already explained this to you several times.

Exactly and they often do that.

Not really though. It’s something they would absolutely have to do right, because doing it wrong could result in unplayable portions for weeks or months afterwards. And like I said, some stuff is still ridiculously out of whack compared to the rest of the game. WoD is one glaring example of them doing the absolute bare minimum to get scaling to work.

Then why did you even bring up DMs? You can’t bring up an analogy and then say it’s irrelevant when people turn it around against you.

Yeah, they can do that, WoW can’t. If people end up not liking something, the devs might fix it, or they might dig in their heels and say it’s working fine and we’re just playing wrong. Kind of like they’re doing right now with portals.

They probably use an editor to work, in the editor there are buttons. What you said is irrelevant to the main point that is “This is a massive feature and requires almost no investment”. I do not know the program that they use or if they use a program at all to this specific task, but this is irrelevant to the meat of the argument.

PRECISELY the agenda.
BfA bombed. Gotta funnel the sheep in somehow.
