We’ve explained this over and over and Dire insists that we’re all leaving over the portals themselves. I gave them a detailed thought out post explaining that, and she’s STILL arguing.
Yeah but at this point no one cares because you have shown that you don’t care about how they play and you seem like you want to control how they play. Which is ridiculous.
Then stop engaging with him/her. You’ve said your piece, right?
I just unsubbed a few minutes ago and I got a survey. I would imagine that they have another upward trend of people unsubbing.
I left cause Blizzard keep taking crap away without needed it to be taken away. It isn’t just about the portals. This is the last straw for me for awhile. I may come back in 2 expansions to see whats up.
This expansion is run by micromarketing as well. Want this mount pay 25 bucks want this pet pay 10 bucks. Want a boost pay 60 bucks.
Also some old mogs you can’t get anymore. They took those away too.
In the same way, you’re not on the subject of the thread but going into tangent train of thoughts.I had a sister that did the same method you are doing without knowing it.
All of you need to be replaced at Blizz. That’s the end of this story. You don’t know what you’re doing - apparently.
Out of touch just barely encompasses this idiocy. Gate flying. Remove portals. Metrics based on time in-game. You’re forcing good numbers and padding reports. Screw this. I already said I’m out and was teetering on ‘maybe’ giving it another shot in 8.2. That just cemented it. I’m not running all my toons through old raids and taking 10 minutes more in travel time with the little time I have left.
Peace failure blizz.
Edit: I don’t care how anyone takes what I posted (I’m just one voice in a sea of complaining lol) Blizz, seriously - first, your stocks are plummeting, yet you made a net profit this year? You guys give huge bonuses to a CFO, fire almost 800 employees… I mean come on? I hope Blizz falls into the ocean at this point. I still love wow, but I’m not paying for bad behavior and I’m not paying for dumb decisions, no matter how much I like WoW. #Blizzgetbent.
I insist? I never even suggested that. Most are leaving because you are burned out of the game, and find no enjoyment on it anymore, which is normal for a game this old that people play so much. The person is just rationalizing their new found distaste for it and blaming it on random stuff like azerite armor, master loot, worldquests, warfronts, etc… No body gets dis passionate about a subject so irrelevant.
Pft I gave up with them ages ago. It’s insane that she’s still going, is all.
Because every voice used to matter to this company, I am putting my two cents here. You are wasting our time because the game is boring now and you want us to have to spend more time getting to older places that are mainly used for farming pets and transmog now? Is that what you are saying to us? You don’t care that we are begging for content and instead of delivering more, you just take away older things…taking away is never the answer here in a game that people still actually “want” to play. I “want” to keep playing, but honestly the game is boring for me right now and I find myself logging on less and less, mainly only to raid with friends and not because of the raid itself (though this new one is pretty fun compared to the first one).
Friends are keeping me here and having me stuck with more time on flight paths and trying to find my way around after literally years of traveling with portals that are no longer going to be there is NOT the way to keep me playing. You want our feedback and yet you don’t listen. This isn’t small feedback either, it’s actually a HUGE step back by saying ‘tell us what you think so we can try to prove why you don’t need it’.
This is a bad decision and it’s another nail in the coffin for me. Over a decade of playing and lifelong friends I no longer play with but I met because of this game and still keep in touch with. My girlfriend who I met because of this game and it is the best thing that happened to me, but the last year has really been bad (for the game and me, not my current relationship with my girlfriend, that one is great, we are building a house together!). I hope you stay in my current events and not move into my history like so many guilds and characters I no longer see online because they quit long ago or not so long ago.
Portals are convenient in a world that we want to DO things, it gets us to where we want to do them…it’s taking that away and making things like flight paths more important again and flight paths are basically bathroom breaks, reddit breaks or youtube breaks, not enjoying flying over the scenery. You are not making the game more enjoyable by this change, you are reminding me again how much I will NOT be playing Classic WoW because I remember how less convenient it was-much like you are trying to make current WoW. Sad for me, because I want to still love the game-I really do…I just cannot right now.
The only point of yours I dismissed is you saying something in a video game is more boring than doing a truck driver’s job.
It’s a game for crying out loud.
And you’ve been sitting in here arguing with people without ever seeing their perspective for hours. I’ve been reading through this thread. Thus, you have no empathy. I can see it in your words. And you are ignoring that to ask me questions I didn’t even beg of you.
And here I’ll do something that you haven’t. Acknowledged someone and answer their questions.
Uh… yeah, the activity? The killing for a chance at loot and collecting things? Part of the point in playing the game? It looks like you use the transmog feature so I’m unsure why you would ask such a silly question.
Both. It’s a game. It’s both a passtime and a way to collect things, build up my characters and my account. That is why I play WoW. Why do you play it?
I already have. In the past there has been tier sets you could also buy from vendors. I did the raids anyway.
If it does happen, it happens. If it doesn’t, I’m fine. I don’t care either way. I have a lot of rare things that I spent time and effort earning. I’m fine with not having everything. Some things I know I’ll never have.
No, current content should always be new things. Even if it’s a recolor of old armor.
I guess? It wouldn’t make or break the game for me. I don’t think it will happen though. There are too many zones in WoW. It’s fine to have things separated by level ranges.
Do you really think you could call those random with all the people stating them? Gameplay, the cornerstone of the game is changing in ways many don’t like and you’re attributing motives to people you don’t know.
you forgot to add “in my opinion”, because otherwise we would have to assume that you actually know better than other players how they should play the game…factually.
You are not an altoholic, so you have no interest, or understanding of anyone who is. The original devs did. That is why they gave us 40 toons to create if we so choose.
They wanted players to play the game the way they wanted and they boasted that WOW was the game with a place for every play style.
When farming of old content began to really become popular, they made it possible for a single player to go into any old instanced content without requiring a group. They made a change to show their support for this kind of play style.
They did this because they realized that players who are able to play the way they want to are happy players and they will play longer hours and sub longer.
They allowed portals to remain in areas that made it easier for players to traverse old content.
They did not spend so much time looking for things to take away from players because they supported various styles of play and recognized that more players, of any play style, means more hours played, more subs paid and happier players.
The current iteration of devs has taken a harsher view on anything that falls outside of their “new vision” for WOW.
They are gung ho for dungeoneers and in love with raiders. They have been taking things away from players that do not, or are unable to participate in group instance content and giving it to these players who are playing by this “new vision”.
They started with flying in Legion and I can give you a list, if you are interested, in the many other things that never used to be connected to dungeons and raids that now are. These include at least one dungeon for some of the new allied races.
I GET that you do not understand or appreciate that people like different things. I can never understand the interest in a game like EVE, it does not one thing for me, but I appreciate that people have different interests and would never look down my nose at a player who likes something I do not like.
You do not seem to have the capacity to grasp how much some players enjoy farming of various things (mats, pets, mounts, transmog gear). With that in mind, you have no empathy for how this change, by the devs, over the last few years has impacted a large portion of the player base.
You do not “get” that it is not the players that have changed, but the game under the direction of devs who have no respect for the “old vision” for WOW as a game for all types of play styles.
Your inability to really understand how this change is impacting players simply means that everything that you say is nothing more than an opinion You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but sadly it is totally out of the realm of usefulness for players who are
watching the game that they love being transformed in to a game that barely resembles what it was created to be.
It impacts them (at least those who have not already left) and they are trying to get the current iteration of devs to understand that some of the changes they are making are simply not going to be in the best interest of the game if they keep driving people away.
It doesn’t sound like you have anything to worry about, since you are hunky dory happy with everything that the devs do.
I figured this out because anyone who has even a little issue with something in the game has at least a small measure of empathy for players who have issues, even if they are not the same as their own.
You evidently do not.
I’m sorry.
Probably. The proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. I mean, that’s real life. Sometimes things just pile on you and keep piling on and then finally “that’s enough!” and people are surprised when mild mannered Clark Kent hauls off and decks someone.
I believe it is important to stop calling us “players” and “playerbase” and start to remind blizzard we are their customers buying a product and as a consumer we want the product we are buying to have certain standards. Blizzard forgets often that this is a business as well as a passion.
Out of “Likes” for the day. Wish I had more.
Just like CRZ, we griped and griped until we turned blue in the face and guess what, about 9 years later we still have CRZ.
FACT: Blizzard can care less about what the players think or say. The proof is in the pudding!
And here I’ll do something that you haven’t. Acknowledged someone and answer their questions.
Really appreciate it.
Uh… yeah, the activity? The killing for a chance at loot and collecting things? Part of the point in playing the game? It looks like you use the transmog feature so I’m unsure why you would ask such a silly question.
ok, so runnin arround pressing the aoe key, and some times clicking on the corpse. is this that different from just traveling?
Both. It’s a game. It’s both a passtime and a way to collect things, build up my characters and my account. That is why I play WoW. Why do you play it?
I really like mythic plus, I’m currently playing on some alts to feel the gameplay.
That is an unexpected answer for me.
So if it is a past time, it seems that the only problem is that the way you will be affected is that you will get less loot because of the increased time flying. Would your problem be solved if the dungeons affected by the portal would have slightly increased chances to drop to compensate?
I already have. In the past there has been tier sets you could also buy from vendors. I did the raids anyway.
I think I need to rephrase my question, you answered it correctly but I was trying to figure out if you would do the content without the reward. I mentioned moving it elsewhere to avoid arguments of making loot inaccessible.
No, current content should always be new things. Even if it’s a recolor of old armor.
The new content would still have the same amount of stuff, but instead of having a 0.001 chance of dropping something on old content, you would insta get it on a new achievement related to the content or something. Would you like this idea?
Sad but it’s true.
It is their game, they have stated as much many times.
The people who make their game their game? as long as you log in and play it they really couldn’t give a rats …
Hey blues… how do I get in touch with your investors? I want to know so I can give them my 2 cents. … seriously. How do I do it? I’m sick of you guys.
n/m… I’ll research myself. You guys need to go.
