Rearranging and Removing Portals

But then how will I see the flight path for the 10000th time? :frowning:

“Cleaning up” and consolidating into a single location is understandable.

“Cleaning up” does not equal “removing”.

I think that’s the main issue brought up in most of the talk about this change. You guys are removing yet another thing for “the sake of removing stuff” then make up random reasons for doing so.

Frankly, I’d really like to know how clicking on a portal is “chaotic”, increasingly or otherwise. Your reasons make little sense at all. Especially the ones in Legion Dalaran. There was absolutely nothing “chaotic” about having a fast way to reach places like Caverns and Kara.

Pretty sure the enemy of immersion is every paladin running around with Ashbringer, classes being melted into “a sword guy with HOLY! a sword guy with DEATH! etc”, I mean, shall I go on?

Immersion is and always has been an awful justification for anything in this game–and extremely inconsistent at best

It should be a really, REALLY BAD SIGN when people are actively talking about how good ANOTHER game is over yours, Blizz.

Jesus, do they have blinders on, or something?

Doubling down on this eh. The forums should be interesting come patch day when many who don’t come to the forums or follow changes find out their portals are gone

TL;DR: “We don’t like the convenience, and we screwed up in being consistent for 8 years (even though we’re only telling you this now). We know you don’t like it, but you’re stuck with it (much like CRZ and Pathfinder). We’re sure you’ll come around to our way of thinking, though. You’re welcome.”

It was intended. A reference to Super Troopers, where the Highway Patrolman is saying “meow” instead of “now” to the driver.

Wish I could find the links but Activision has done RESEARCH into how to maximize monetization. Yes, they’re actively doing research (aka spending money) into how to take more of our money instead of spending that money on creating Better Games.

I choose to assume people are generally truthful and see if they will disappoint, rather than assume everyone is lying, and wait to be surprised.

It’s my glass-half-full nature.

I’m done running the old content I used to hit from those portals… and since your new content makes me throw up in my mouth… I guess I’m done.

You guys are really killing it this expansion. And by killing it… I mean your player base.

Thank you for articulating why you are doing this. I still think it is a bad choice, knowing where the portals are and the best path to get places is good for an RPG, it’s like living in a city and knowing the back streets so you can avoid the traffic, it’s immersion building not breaking.
That is a major problem with this expansion, the straight linear paths everywhere, no choice, no deviation, just “look at our cool stuff!”, warfronts in a nutshell. No by removing portals that people use and like your making the same thing happen with the overall world.
This is not good game design.

Admirable, I choose the line of, they will disappoint this is the new world order Blizz we are talking about now and be pleasantly surprised when they come through.

Been a long time since I have been pleasantly surprised.

Here you go, unlike modern gaming you don’t need to pre-order this.

So, it is meaningful for me to just get on a flight master point and then do something outside of the game until I arrive at my destination? Only, thing meaningful that was accomplished is that my time to destination is now longer.

But what if the food tastes like dishwash soap?

By processed you mean you tossed customer feedback into the “Round File” and disregarded it completely.

People like me didn’t like every Paladin running around with an Ashbringer. We were against that too… You’re making it sound like we were OK with/liked it. We didn’t. I can tell you what, I certainly wouldn’t come the forums crying about it threatening to unsub over it either though. In a Fantasy MMORPG, I believe Immersion is VERY important. Agree to disagree.
