Basically the title.
It would be about creating a “portal room,” usable by both factions, in some corner of the Caverns of Time.
At least in my mind, it makes more sense this way. Portals that, for example, lead to the old Dalarans of Northrend and Broken Isles, to the old Silithus, Blasted Lands, Lordaeron, pre-Sylvanas Auberdine/Darkshore, etc.
I mean, it also would help new players who aren’t familiar with the game’s strange chronology to navigate more easily and don’t get lost.
I know that, for most veterans who are already familiar with the chronological shenanigans, the paths, and which portals to take, it might be a minor inconvenience. But even so, it would still make more sense and improve the QoL for new players.
Thoughts? Dumb idea? Cool?
I suggested this in the WoW2 threads. Take the “old” version into the CoT and remove Zidormi making all zones “current” zones.

The only problem with this is that it’s poorly designed for that to happen right now. Otherwise yes this is good.
There’s no good space for them at the cave entrance. The taxi flight down would make it suck, and having the capital portal put you down inside would screw with the anniversary. After the anniversary is over though it would make a lot of sense and more clearly delineate ‘old stuff’.
Faction-specific WoD/BFA ones can stay in the capital room forever, move all the others. Jade Forest might have to stay for technical reasons, idk if it’s possible for portals to be coded for each faction to exit differently, can’t think of any place where that has been done.
My first reaction was that this would be really annoying, but if it would solve some of the holiday phasing issues it might be worth it.

i think it’s stupid that the current expansion portal is in a second room.
should be in the main hall. replace the shadowlands portal
Relocate the portals of both alliance and horde into a pvp enabled arena.
