Realm Status Page Lies?

I’m curious as to why realms are clearly down right now, but the status page shows green all the way?

And please stop blaming DDOSers… Servers should be able to withstand script kiddies. Whether it’s a DDOSER or not, this is 100% Blizz fault.

It’s all a plan to make the forums more active.

Realms themselves might be up and network links just saturated. If attack is prolonged, Blizzard might have to get their upstreams to drop certain inbound traffic depending on layer / type of attack. Can take a while.

Blame the victim. Well done.
Blizzard should not have worn skimpy clothes. It is all their fault.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me. They should be able to change the green button to a red button without having to rejubuilate the flux capacitor.

So it’s Blizzard’s fault that some loser thinks this is fun and doesn’t care about the tens of thousands of gamers (possibly more) affected by this silliness?

Yes… It’s Blizzard’s fault that their paying customers can’t play their game.

The accepted term is marketing, not lie.

Lies? That’s really unfair. We all known there is an ongoing situation, and I’m sure Blizzard is actively dealing with it. It is likely that the world servers are technically up but functionally inaccessible because of the attack.

That literally makes 0 sense. If they are functionally inaccessible then they are down.

LOL jesus christ. You think you know what is wrong based on a couple of symptoms you are experiencing. “I think blizzard should update the realm status page to be what I think it is. They should do this instead of finding out what the actual problem is.”

I am having 0 connection issues. so the realms themselves are fine, by the way. Why don’t you take a break and check back for a blue post in an hour? Yeah it sucks that you lose a form of entertainment you paid for, but such is life. You ever get a flat tire???

But that’s not what you originally said. I agree it is inconvenient that we cannot play not but I can’t blame Blizzard for being victim of a DDOS attack.

What I can say is that 2 hours is a long time and this has happened many times before. My faith in their upper management has been shaken a bit in recent years. I am curious what actions have been taken and what kind of crew is there on a Saturday.

The monitors that check status are likely in an interior network zone and able to talk to their world servers. We are outside of the network; the DDOS has a greater impact on us. You need to learn about network architecture.

You obviously have no idea how DDOS works. This is 0% Blizz’s fault.

No, they are inaccessible.

Please go back to serving fries instead of pretending you have IT knowledge.

Lol fact of the matter is, realms have been down almost an hour now and realm status page is still showing green across the board. That is a lie plain and simple

Except it isnt a fact. because I’ve had access to any and all realms all day.

Atiesh is available. Clearly, you are lying.

Most realms have been down well over 2 hours.

I am not sure why Blizzard hasn’t told us anything on the official forums yet. If you are going to criticize them for anything, that is the route to take… and ask why a multi billion dollar company with the best tech talent in the industry at its disposal constantly has issues with DDOS defenses.
