Blizzard hinted at something coming last summer and we’ve heard nothing on the matter since. I think Cataclysm is at the point where we need something to be done about the few smaller realms left. It’s getting more and more difficult to recruit on Grob and Firelands hasn’t solved things as much as we wanted.

What other PVPRP realm do you suggest Blizzard merge grob with? Because I’m failing to see any.

Don’t need to merge Grob, just offer free transfers like they did in SOD. The other realms need to be merged though.
The other realms are fine apart from the OCE realms and 2 US East realm. Which one of the US one is an RP realm.

The US East realms are a different data centre than the US West realms. People would be playing there for a reason. And thats the same again for the OCE realms.
Even if Blizzard were to allow free transfers off those realms to Grob. And every single person on those low pop realms shown on ironforge.og used those transfers. Grob still wouldn’t be as populated as the other realms.
That’s what happens when the server population is almost 50/50 with the factions.

I would like to see a merge. East coast guilds like to start raiding ~ 9pm on week days and run until midnight. I have to get up at 4AM for work. So, if we had a server with players from other time zones there’s a good chance of finding guilds running ~6 pm server times.
If Grobb dies I quit Cata. Its the only server left with faction balance and has been like that for the last 5 years. Have some of the dead realms feed into us instead.
Grobb doesn’t need to be the biggest server, it just needs to survive until MoP. MoP is a good expansion and we will see many players return.
Then grobb sounds fine, but I don’t think the dead servers would help very much anyway.
Only about 500 people have either raided or done rated pvp on those realms. If you include the 2 dead OCE realms into that number, its only about 680-690.
Majority of that 680-690 is also PvE. So asking pure PvE players to transfer to a pvp realm is quite a big ask.
pagle and mankrik should be merged. The problem is alliance is dying. Benediction has like half the population of faerlina when they were pretty equal in wrath. so merging those 2 would be a terrible idea as faerlina is 2x the population almost.
