I’ve been on Grobb since day one of Classic and don’t want to leave.
I fully support the idea of allowing RP and PVE players currently on Grob that want a way off to get one. Not sure how you technically can do that without people from other servers hopscotching thru Grob onto somewhere else. Some of us would love to have those folks come to BSB if they want a non-mega-server home. I don’t know how you make that happen though….
I did the same except for mine says February 12, 2029 I bought to many WoW Tokens! rofl
Except for the fact they made the choice to play on a PvP server!
Grob Squad for life!
Name the other pvp servers people rolled on that get to move… go ahead… take a look… all of them.
Wednesday will roll around and the eu pvp servers get to choose. All of them.
What about name change tickets? Will they be able to be purchased right away? Or will they be locked with the new character creation?
You’re also ignoring the fantastic community Grobb had back in the day, PvP happened it was really fun, but it wasn’t the main focus of the server.
The Grob mob was the big hook for all of us.
Anyway hope we’re heard, the people that want the server for PvP can have their fun in it. But the community died with Redwood Tribes leaving the server, that was the last nail.
They are all being converted to PVE servers which I’m also against! Blizzard should have left all the server rule sets alone and connected them to each other PvP to PvP and PvE to PvE!
all of us grobbulus players are just asking for freedom of choice like everyone else is getting. weve been stuck here since cata asking for a way out. the only thing that has been done is people get transfers to grobb and it hasnt fixed the issue
Welcome back. Some of us remember this game. There are dozens of posts like this over years. And yet, you’re still here.
We’re not being given a choice we’re being cornered. We rolled on a PvP server for a reason, and Blizzard let it rot into a monofaction wasteland. Now they’re forcing us into a PvE environment and calling it a solution. That’s not a choice it’s abandonment. Most players who only play Classic are being told, loud and clear: “You don’t matter. We don’t respect you.”
… and mine October 9, 2025. I only bought a month last time around.
I haven’t paid for a sub since 2019 Ounce blizzard released Classic I used all of my retail told and bought tokens lol!
I haven’t played Retail since 2018, and was never good at making G, so no tokens for me ![]()
Feels like a big true at this point. Be nice to have the right to choose though.
Well, that’s why Legion Remix is out soon.
Thats what the protest and not server xfering is about! Force them to realize that we want to be treated equal!
Well hey… looks like im joining the protest… not that you know… I have a choice to do so or not… ![]()
I’m genuinely so grateful to everyone who spoke up on behalf of BSB, and thankful for the changes to keeping our server unlocked. It means the world to us (somewhat literally), and it’s an essential part of keeping this corner of the WoW universe what it is. I’m not much of a forum poster, but this topic compelled me to write in.
This gratitude for our reprieve being said, the concerns of our server cousins need to be better addressed. Grobbulus in particular deserves the same freedom to choose their server, period. And importantly there should be a consideration that if the Mega Server is the inflexible decision despite community outcry, then the character transfer being Open for picking your place should be on the table at the very least.
In general, if you have to force everyone through lack of choice into something you tell them they want, you’ve really only proven that it isn’t what they want. This isn’t just about Guild Achievements or Access, it’s about Community. Many of these servers develop mores and values that shape their approach to the content, and some people specifically choose those communities based on those practices. Servers are more than mechanical means to an end.
I have to wonder at why this Mega Server idea is being pushed so hard given that in the past there has been a high caution on introducing cross server functions like the Random Dungeon Finder, and the possible introduction of the Random Raid that wasn’t implemented because it caused such strong clashes, of what happens when you throw a lot of people from different server places with their own practices and goals of complete strangers into one place that requires cooperation and communication. In the past, Community was the cited reason to not jump into these, and while I think that they actually serve a good place in WoW game life, it should be examined why there has been a sudden complete shift away from prioritizing Community building in favor of Mega-Server Mentality.
Additionally, the claims that the technology is now well made to support a Mega Server don’t seem supported by reality. I play on BSB a, as you say, “critically low population” server, and I’ve experienced issues with sharding in MoP that have made it difficult to get even partied people into the same shard, requiring multiple drops and reinvites, leaving the area. I can’t even imagine what sort of strain this will be on a server with literally thousands more trying to do the same.
Please address the concerns of Players, and consider what sort of disruption ripple effect could occur when people’s communities are ripped apart and sewn very clumsily into a tapestry not well built to support it.
