Realm Connections -- August 27

It does. Most of Terenas/Hydraxis is alliance

While Azralon is almost horde only, Alliance player have two options if they want to play wow: transfer to Azralon and join the Horde, or transfer to an american server (lots of people i know transferring to Stormrage).

A merge of all brazilian servers should be good to the game.

Hello Blizzard

I’m a new player, as you can see in my character lvl, and I truly like Alliance, but even me in my low character felt the problems with the Alliance empty in several servers, so I did go to the Azralon Horde and I really saw more ppl and put my Blood Elf on 56lvl BUT now I’m coming back to Nemesis cuz I really like Alliance, it’s not fair with us and with all players of BRWoW that we need to change servers to see a alive Soul in the capital city, so… please Blizz… #JoinUsBlizzard

Please, do something for the brazilian realms. We are really in need.

I see no one answered you, so no, shouldn’t notice any difference because 99% of the times you are effectively already cross realm zoned with the guys you get merged with, hence seeing them in the world and in town won’t be different unless your town is specifically anti-crz (very rare case nowadays), so as a general example of the effect this does:

Let’s say you are A and are in crz with realm B and C, but you aren’t connected to those: you see those from B and C around in stormwind\org, in the world etc. but can’t trade with them, invite them to guild, buy their stuff in AH and so on, now A, B and C get connected, result, you will see exactly the same people but now you can interact with them, so in general there’s the ability to do more stuff with (some) of the people you see around you.

Unite the Brazilian servers please!

Would it be possible to get a developer blog that explains how realm connection decisions are made? Like: Are realm connections the best way to improve some social aspects of WoW, what metrics are you using to decide if a server is too low below an ideal population, what is an ideal population, how do you decide when to make rounds of connections, or what would the game hypothetically look like if every region was just one giant realm. I personally would think the community would appreciate more openness on this topic.

Economy manipulation would be my guess.

That, or they want to be able to adjust plans on the fly without going back on promises. Garona, Icecrown and Malygos are getting salty as it is even though we know they’re not jerking us around on purpose.

I’d love to see the “metric” used to determine which realms to merge and when to make the announcement. I’m sure it’d make lots of peoples heads hurt. I’m guessing whomever came up with the “metric” is also the one that came up with token price (which seems closer tied to how much gold there is overall than to anything having to do with supply/demand).

Merge more realms for NA/OCE was just looking today and out of the 503293 io scores above a 1932 (flat 15s score), 32.26% (162588 characters) came from NA/OCE, while 58.34% came from EU. I set all 15s as a baseline because blizz doesn’t give in-game progression acknowledgment beyond 15s (barring more currency). EU is literally playing the game 1.8x more than NA in the area of gameplay that has to be created by the community. I can easily see this being one indicator that the playerbase in NA/OCE is dying.
