I’ve been playing retail and anniversary the last few weeks, just switched over to MoP and saw this. I don’t really understand exactly what’s happening? 1. The RP realm is staying (my main realm is bloodsail)? 2. For the other realms I play on (grobbulus, pagle, and earthfury), what happens? Are they forcing name changes? Because if I lose even one of my characters names, I’m out and not paying anymore unless its a non-blizz/microsoft realm.

So, I transferred from Faerlina and my name was already taken on Nazgrim. How do I go about getting my original name since it was maliciously taken?

I just checked and I was able to xfer from Bene to Grob now!

Fwoibles, the blue dev, posted that we will be able to roll new characters on the MoP megaservers this Saturday at 4PM PST.
Someone had to have bought a name change potion to get around the restrictions. I’m sorry that happened to you. I wonder if petitioning a GM in-game will help?
Make it so I can undelete a character to move it off the realm please. This is OBNOXIOUS. Toons that were already on a server should be able to be UNDELETED.
any plans to honor the part about taking action against people intentionally blocking names? i’ve had multiple friends of mine have their names stolen from people transferring a character to the destination realms and paying for a name change
they have opened tickets and been sent bot replies saying “we can’t change players names” etc
you guys also practically incentivized this behavior by putting name changes on sale at the same time (LOL!)

This whole server consolidation project has been a massive clusterflub. How in the world did you guys dig a hole this big?

I dont even understand the point of name change service being reduced when no one could even make a char to begin with anyway and if it were taken you could get a free name change anyhow.
so this just looks like they intentionally done that to make a few bucks.

If you had a toon or toons on one of the identified servers for migration, they should show up in the “Legacy” tab within the realm list.
Easy: If you ever transfered in the past to another realm, and had to rename your character you now had a chance to get it back
those who stayed all the time and might now also stay as long as possible, are the ones who are screwed (Blizzard doesn´t really respect this type of player anyway)
This is a mess pure and simple. Blizzard needs to figure out how to straighten this out. If we need a redo, so be it, give us a redo. This was the absolutely worse time to pull this move. The more appropriate would have been right before pre-patch and let everything get squared away.

When will servers unlock so if someone wants to make a new toon they can? Kinda sucks being toonlocked
How long do we have to take advantage of the free server transfers?

I came back and you expanded to new game, i notice i am on a server with no people, Windseeker. I read that you offered free transfers but you stopped that. all my characters are on a dead server, I am paying for a MMO game. i do not care about what stupid reasons or excuses you put me on a locked server but if you are not going to let me play wow as a mmo game, i will cancel and go play another game. I had 7 original Tiger names that are all gone also. i quit because every expansion was actually a reduction in the game. Maybe i just need to cancel my account and move on. I beta tested wow, the original game. been here for decades and cannot believe you would just leave a dead server. NOT GOING TO PAY $30 PER CHARACTER TO FIX YOUR SCREW UP. my screwup will be to stay with no resolution to this locked server with no players? if you want to kill it, move all my guys to another server, not picky but i PAY for a MMO game.
