This morning as I was doing my dailies, I decided to look up Relinquished Duties guild info. 410 accounts, 913 members. All those accounts might not be active, but more and more people are coming back to the game they fell in love with, every day. To the people they choose to spend time with in the spare time they get.
It will absolutely hurt my heart not only as a Guild Master but as a person, to have these players come back and the guild is gone. As someone who has had to step away from the game due to real life things, I looked forward to coming back and playing with the people I call friends and family. Just as these other players do.
You might not be forcing us to move to Pagle, but I foresee it coming if you close the doors to BsB.

I was honestly ambivalent about this whole situation until the devs apparently decided our server didn’t exist? The ‘clarification’ that lumped bsb in with locked servers they purged in Wrath was more insulting than it was insightful, I guess.
Funnily enough, bsb is probably the only server that actually still feels like a ‘classic’ server where a community exists with people who know each other, which I thought was the whole point of this ‘classic’ experience in the first place. Pagle as-is is already just retail set a few expansions back, and as a mega-server it’ll be even worse. I’d rather just go play retail, which actually is way more akin to a ‘single-player experience’ than bsb is right now.
If you’re gonna choke the server to death you at least need to offer something with regard to guild transfers. I didn’t fish from thousands of pools for nothing, blizz.
BSB here. I’ve had many wonderful experiences on the BSB server since classic launched. Now, you will strip all those achievements and time spent away and still ask me to keep supporting your company? when you take away the one thing I come here for? the ONE THING that keeps me willing to continue my subscription? Blizz this is a HUGE MISTAKE. Do not pander to me you know it’s disruptive. I am your customer - I do NOT WANT THIS. and furthermore I won’t support you or it if you continue with the path identified. IF you are going to insist we merge/move then I demand as just compensation for supporting your salaries a FULL SERVICE TRANSFER of all guild items, bank tab, gold, perks etc. You COULD DO IT – if you wanted to. Or maybe you aren’t actually good at this software thing and you should get a different job because when we leave your job will as well… things to think about.
A blue answer to this would be wonderful so that it is answered without assumption. I know when I have transferred characters before, my bank and achievements went with me. Will the guild lead be able to TRANSFER the guild (keeping perks and guild bank intact) or will we be rebuilding from scratch?

I don’t understand why the hell they pay attention to the people who cried for their nickname, it was a good original idea, if they’re going to pay attention to them, also pay attention to those who want a mega server and do it, that’s what we pay for.

I do not play on BsB but I can sympathize with them. The blue post lumping them in with closed/dead servers was quite insulting. I do agree they should be untouched and allowed to do their own thing. #Justice4BsB
My biggest gripe with all of this is the lack of communication, as usual. We have this big news dumped on us with very little notice (I think most will agree we didn’t expect it this soon) and now we cannot get questions answered or clarification on a very poorly edited Blue post.
It still reads as if we are going to Pagle. Yet the free transfer lists were updated to show other connected servers. Blizz, you’re killing us here. If you’re going to make edits, review the entire the post. Are we going to a connected server? Can we still choose Pagle as our destination as well for free? We really need answers. The day the news came in we did start a guild on Pagle and some reserved character names there. Should we be instructing members of our very large community to do the same? Is Pagle even an option any longer?
Regarding guilds: Give us an answer. Will Blizzard give us transfers? Do we need to start clearing out guild banks and preparing for this move? You aren’t saying anything and let’s be honest, you’re not giving anyone much notice. A little communication goes a very long way.
I am in favor of the mega server but we would really just like to know the game plan regarding all of the above. We haven’t had a reply from Blue recently regarding any of the concerns your community is bringing forward since the last response and these changes do affect everyone. Please give us some clarification. At this point everyone would just like answers.
I will also speak on behalf of Bloodsail Buccaneers. You described the undertaking of doing the required database work in order to connect the existing realms. You have come up with a solution that, not perfect, at least addresses character and guild names. You have made it clear that us smaller realms were not worth the server resources. As a compromise, why can’t you look at doing the DB work for the smaller servers. You are not working with millions of records, but only a few thousand, or in some cases, only “a handful” of players.
17.9K+ Views over 1200 comments only 12 likes countless people who have not spoken on fourms in years! This should tell you everything you need to know blizzard! KNOWBODY wants this! Listen to the players like you used to do! People are upset about horrible move!
Another option would be to make a new realm for the entire group of small servers to go to. There may still be some name competition, but it’s better than competing with Pagle.
Its very important no one can leave grobb because it probably would kill grobb I hear… well… doesnt that means it deserves to die? Or is false flagging it as a success by forcing everyone to stay on it that important to the ego.
Let me be clear… grobb will live on… but the raiders there sure would like to have the choice the rest of the NA has when it comes to server choice…

Bloodsail Buccaneers is such a special place. It is an RP server and while a lot of us don’t RP, being surrounded by it and accepting it is so important. I love the environment and it makes it a special place. When talk of mergers first started, I told ppl not to worry, I doubted we would be merged as we were a very niche specific type of server, and I didn’t see them locking us out, but sure enough here we are.
I think keeping us independent as this niche community that we have built over the years is important. BSB has such a history, I for one don’t want to lose that.

You raided this thread in your discord with an announcement, the actual rest of the game has priority, like people on faerlina, bendiction and etc, you can’t be catered to, it wouldn’t be fair to cater to 200 people instead of the rest of the 100k players on these servers
