well according to blizzard some people do and some people don’t. also some people’s subscriptions are afforded and worthy of free services and some people’s aren’t. whatever you’re championing for matters not. this is the real issue at hand.
its clear to see just from this overwhelming response, that there are clearly more then 200 people on a server that is very much alive and thriving.
We are still waiting on some kind of reply about these answers. Seems you can make really big an impactful decision without consulting the community, why is it taking so long for some kind of an answer or an apology for all the indiscretion you caused to the community by creating this uproar for nothing
All Servers Affected Unite Against The Tyrants That Is Blizzard!
Gather Everyone On Your Servers Meet At One Spot And We Go On Strike!
I’ve played on BSB since Classic launched, I’ve played WoW since Black Temple opened originally. The BSB community is the reason I continue to play; I started playing WoW on an RP server in TBC, I met my husband on that server. I have made many friends on BSB and the server is more active than people think. I have seen more new names since MoP started and it has been great.
Blizz needs to look to their player base on this one, there was no communication regarding this until the decision. From making an announcement about the change one week before it is set to occur, to allowing one server to keep all of their names, guilds, guild progress; this is a tone-deaf idea.
This right here. Absolutely tone-deaf. No thought given with -very- little time to consider other options.
If the majority of players do not transfer this all falls apart for Blizzard. They’ll eventually have to backtrack. It’s that simple. I’m happy on Atiesh so I won’t transfer until I have no choice. Unfortunately I doubt enough players will stay to force blizzard to change their mind.
None of this makes sense. Why is this happening? And why is Pagle the destination server when it’s not even the most populous? Why are multiple servers much larger than Pagle being merged into it?
Now you make changes to what’s happening because people complained about names? Well myself and a lot of people I know were lucky enough to save names on Pagle, and I had names saved on that server since 2019 even though I never played on it just in case. Now your solution is to create new server branches that we can’t reserve names for and have to race to log into next Tuesday to get our names and not be sniped. I am employed and work Tuesdays so I guess I am screwed.
This seems so miserable that I wouldn’t be surprised that it just keeps a lot of people from logging in again and accelerates the slow death of Classic WoW.
Classic could have been great for so much longer. Instead they fed into the Cataclysm hate and seemingly gave up on it after Wrath, even though Cata never deserved the hate it got because people only remember the disaster that was LFRs release and an undercooked final raid. The dev time they spent on creating new content for SoD could have instead went into completing unfinished Cata content, but instead they chose to split the playerbase even further with yet another version of WoW and then abruptly ceased support for SoD anyway after just over a year.
Now MoP ended up being one of the worst releases ever for WoW and they’ve decided to uproot everyone left playing not even 2 months in.
Blizzard never ceases to be disappointing and disrespectful to their playerbase.
Agreed on both parts. Only way we win is if we all stay put and make them reverse their decision. But like you said will be hard to get everyone to do that.
Cause Microsoft now runs the show and they have no idea what they are doing. I mean our GMs to fix bugs and stuff are all AI not real people like it used to be. Very sad days.
Except you didn’t, not all the way. Character names, sure, yeah that was a major issue, but it’s not just the guild NAME, it’s everything that’s in the guild, tabs purchased, achievements as well as just the configuration of the guild, ranks, guild bank, and just things of that sort.
The character names will be great on the new servers, it’s gonna open up a ton of names that’ve been held for years on characters who’ll never log on again, but we shouldn’t have to sacrifice what shows on our guild for it.
Again - very important to change the realm time to MST - don’t make us all play at night time. Global servers have always been MST for this reason. Someone needs to think of that at Blizzard.
Another BSB player here. Asking for a shard please
I think that would be the absolute best solution to go with. The players from every other server are being punished for their server decision. This is something i have been thinking about for the last two days (today and yesterday) since reading the recent blue posts. kind of dumb of Blizzard not to just create a wholly new server. its not like its gonna muck anything up.
So that particular issue has already been handled, it’s a bit further into the post past the message you replied to. Realm Changes & Free Moves for Mists of Pandaria Classic - #579 by GarnetHound-14887
They really just need to do something about transferring guilds at this point.
Bloodsail might be low pop, but it is not a “single player experience”. Tell us you’ve never been on our server, without saying you’ve never been on our server.
Secondly, taking names away from role players is a special kind of cruelty from a GM or developer.
Give bsb a shard at the minimum.
Are we going to be able to create ‘new’ characters on those new servers?
Like, if I decide to accidentally create a level 1 with the same name as my lvl 90, then transfer the 90 and oopps…now I have to name change…
Or are we just looking at realm to realm transfers for now?
For real…why is Pagle the ONLY server not being forced to move. If they make 5 / 6 servers move, all servers should move.
Pagle should free transfer to somewhere also…and they call the new group of 5 servers something like Mankrik’s Wife.
I mean, that one’s easy. You just delete the level 1 toon and then just redo the name on the name change.
OK, so am I going to have to scramble on the morning of the 23rd to try to keep my names? This isn’t a solution. Nothing about guild transfers. You know what would upset way less people? Not doing this!
