Really Unhappy with Removed content

this has been their modus operandi since cataclysm.

Sounds like you’re trying to sell me something lol I’m good though

My fresh rogue alt went straight to korthia.

Not a fan of the eastern MMORPGs.

I’ve looked at a few eastern mmos and there’s always one thing they have in common. You either no life them or you don’t get anywhere. Plus I’m not a fan of the whole “must say hi or hello in every group otherwise I apparently don’t care about that person” mentality those players have.

I’m there to run a dungeon not socialize beyond explaining mechanics or asking for a res lol

They should’ve put skips in them.

Some people despise torghast/choreghast.

Honestly at this point they just need to put all legendaries on a vender, rank 1 is 100 gold, final rank is 500 gold.

The attempt at a new legendary system failed and other than a vender I see no way to possibly scavenge whats left of it.

Censorship isn’t a problem in a lot of MMO’s

They push the envelope and give a big fat finger to the Puritans.

They already are. Hence why they posted in the WoW forums.

It makes me think they really don’t care about the integrity of the game (Blizz that is), but then I remember they have been removing content for a decade and then I think I’m right, they don’t, so why should I care if they don’t?

Sorry friend. WoW is #5 presently.

I really don’t understand how people play FFXIV… I guess it just isn’t for me. I can’t stand watching hours upon hours of cutscenes.

I like to ya know… Play the game?

If I wanted a movie or show I have Netflix,Hulu, and now HBO Max.

I have played since Blizz flipped the “on” switch so I have had to slug it out through everything on my main, and most of my alts (admittedly I only have a few). If I recall, you have to run the gambit of everything on at least one character before you can “remove content.” Threads of Fate for instance was an option early on, but not a mandatory or default path.

The required run through the Maw at the start was removed (I’m guessing once again after you have slogged it through with one character). I don’t know, have not tried it since changes, but I would not doubt that it could still be done on every alt if desired.

In order to unlock Korthia I had to do a small quest chain in the Maw on my main. After that, alts could bypass it and go straight there. I believe that that I can still run the entire gambit again if I choose, but I don’t. Although nothing mandates that you run your alts through the storyline there, I have found that it can be boring since many dailies are not unlocked until you knock out a particular part of the storyline.

9.1.5 did give us the ability to easily swap covenants, and get the lvl 40 “boost” in renown with a single purchase. Again though, nothing prevents you from playing out the story behind the covenant. I believe it is the only way to collect the armor set (for looks) that comes with each part. Just be glad you do not have to wait a week between each part. Again, I do not believe that we are forced to bypass the covenant storyline(s).

Obviously it looks like OP is using a fresh character on a new account, so knowing that they have actually played it out or it is pure hearsay is a mystery.

There are still a couple of awful characters you can rescue from Torghast, like Baine and Tyrande.

*if you can figure out how to set up an account on their completely atrocious, garbage website that looks - and acts - like it was built in 1998

fixed that for you

Not only that, it was a greasy pitch. Just oozes sleazy salesperson. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yea, I was trying to think what was removed. Storywise, the impact is minimal (no really), though I did like the Jaina rescue as something to play.

But either way, its no story breaker.

We were on a raid break last week for the holiday (we do it every year), so I tried out FF

I enjoyed it

but I skipped every single cutscene. I don’t need to watch my character nod meaningfully for the 53243th time.

then I discovered I could pay to skip the forced MSQ questline, was much happier after that.

something something pay to win lol

Do you still have to save useless Baine?
Probably, since he is udderly useless.

Yeah they do. If you click the link that has Red text saying skip this part you’ bypass everything.
