Spoiler ahead: Was there an oversight here ? Two belt runes that do the same thing to Slam? Surely Blizzard could have come up with a different rune that wouldnt push fury warriors even higher up on the damage meters. I can think of a few off the top of my head:
Disciplines: Your Shield Wall, Recklessness, and Retaliation have their cooldown reduced by 10 minutes.
Revenge: Revenge damage increased and strikes an additional target.
Drums of War: Reduces the rage cost of Pummel, Shield Bash, and any shouts which cost rage by 50%.
Stance Mastery: Battle Stance grants you 3% hit, Defensive Stance grants you 5% block, Berserker Stance grants you -15% threat generated.
Look, I may be a warrior main and I realize DPS warriors are already on top of the meters for phase 1, but all I am saying is giving us two runes that make slam instant is just really a feels bad moment and just awkward design. I was someone who didn’t look up the runes, and the excitement which was then followed by utter dismay when two runes were the same thing was just really sad for something I was looking forward to for months.
I’m not sure if anything can be done at this point, but as it stands, warriors did not get 6 new runes, we got 5, less than anyone else. Is there any chance this might be addressed? Blizz could’ve even given us a random passive rune that does something out of combat and it would’ve been more fun than having two runes that make slam instant.
1 rune makes slam free and 6 second CD.
this means you can use it without consequence to your rage and consistently. making it easy for you to decide how to use it in your rotation.
the other rune requires you to use other abilities to proc a instant slam. this rune can give you more DPS through slam but at the higher cost of rage.
1 rune would be much better for PvP or levelling.
the other rune would be better in a raid where you are getting lots of rage and can more reliably use slam
