So I farmed all the missing mounts, got the 14 I still needed that fell under the collectors buff, the only one left now is the squid from nyalotha. So I spent a significant amount of time past 3 weeks levelling up about 10 alts to 80 and getting them ilv 640, while working away at the skip quest for nyalotha so by the 4th week (now) I would be able to skip all 10 alts to the last bosses and farm the mount… only to discover NONE OF MY ALTS CAN GET INTO NYALOTHA.
Turns out the nyalotha raid in Uldum (last week) is visible to everyone but this week in pandaria the raid is locked behind an extensive quest chain… what the actual frik… what an immense waste of my time getting ready to farm the mount and all the preparation only to find this out and Id need to invest so many more hours into all those alts to be able to farm the raid… I cant. This is beyond disappointing, why have this collectors bounty event if the raid is locked away…they should absolutely have made sure all the raids were accessible for this event.

I went after one mount. I figured if I didn’t get Invincible with the buff I’d be dipped if I’d go after any of the others. Congrats on your 14

Since this is supposed to be an ‘event’, they should have enabled raid access and skips (or at least made all skip quests warbound) for all players and all characters.
But this was typical Blizzard - hype an event, be vague, and do the least amount possible.
In this case, they enabled a buff and called it a day - don’t have access to the raid, too bad; don’t have the skip unlocked, sucks to be you; raid doesn’t have a skip, enjoy spending a bunch of time running and listening to NPCs babble on.
Heck, they even took down their own video explaining the event, though their explanation included features we never saw such as toggling the buff at an inn keeper.

Okay, so like while that would have been nice. You’re talking about permanent changes to everybody’s quest completed lists or major changes to the phase conditions. For as you said, an event. That seems a little over the top to just enable “everybody has quest ID 300016 done” and then the requisite change to fix that after the event was over so people weren’t forever messed up.
Don’t we have two weeks left of the buff, so you’ll have one more week of uldum nyalotha for collector’s bounty?
Nope, not one more week, this is last week

It takes about 30 minutes to do the quests. I painfully had to do it 2 weeks ago.
Its hilarious to me that you leveled alts, geared alts, but draw the line at a 30minute quest chain at max level.
Yeah it’s stupid but I just don’t get why that is where you draw the line. Just pretend you have a little bit more leveling to do.

This whole thread is ridiculous lmao
can spend 3 weeks leveling alts but not half an hour for a quest
30 minutes x 10 alts is another 5 hours to invest in addition to the time farming the raid out for however long that times.
Doable over the week, but depending on schedule may also not be. Could easily kill someone’s motivation to make an attempt at it because 10-11 tries for a mount is not a massive amount of attempts for a mount.

better get started, clocks ticking.

The mount is not going away after the event ends. It just goes back to requiring the same effort it has always required.

This. Just farm the mount as normal

A Lock can’t summon you to the raid from the outside but you can have those alts summoned inside by a Lock.
Just a thought

Well, now you have all those alts parked there you can just keep running it after the “event” ends with the normal drop chance.
I will trade you my 6 for your 14. Am going to spend the last 3 weeks farming 3 mounts but getting none of them. About 30 tries for each.
That makes sense to someone like me, yeah it would be the end of my journey.
But OP is someone who leveled and geared 10 alts specifically to run raids for this event. I don’t mean to make judgements but I don’t think OP is pressed for time.
That’s just what confuses me. You level a character to farm RNG drops but throw in the towel because of a 30minute hurdle?
It isn’t but assuming the mount is a 5% drop it’s at least a coin flip. Worth it for OP imo.
I don’t get people obsessing over mounts or pets they have no connection to
strange sickness.
The mounts aren’t being removed. Nothing says you can’t keep farming. No need for drama.
