Really disappointed with this patch

Just thought I’d put this out there and see if anyone is actually listening. The new zone is pretty uneventful and kinda dull. I was hoping for much more. It’s a small zone with not much going on. There are some mediocre elite mobs, a few rares, and that’s really about it. I also find it kind of odd that the ring is kinda time-gated, unless I’m missing something. It’s leagues worse than my heroic ring right now. I understand that we’ll be able to upgrade it, but it was kind of the center piece of the patch, and it’s mediocre at best.
Also, why is all the catch-up gear veteran? Don’t we get better than that out of delves? You would think the gear would be at least champion, with heroic options at this point.

I had some free-time coming up for the holidays and was going to use wow to kill some time, but it looks like I’ll be looking for another game to keep me occupied. This is all just my opinion as well. I’m sure there are people that love it. I was just expecting more.

it’s a minor patch, what were u expecting? i knew this would be disappointing lol, i only logged on to see if plunder was out and it isnt so i logged off lol

Sure, it be disappointing, but I wouldn’t let it bother you too much. You could still do catch-up gear and whatever else on alt you don’t need that sirens aisle for it.

That’s exactly why it’s Veteran and not Champ gear.

This is just a minor filler patch during the lull before 11.1 in a couple months or whatever.

I didn’t want to make a thread of my own for something so trivial, but does anyone know if we can get rid of the “right click for frame settings” under everyone i mouse over?

I am totally confused. I went to the new island. Went on a quest into a really impressive room, killed some big yellow things and got a ring and a thing.

Went back and did a quest to put the thing into the ring but I had to take it out and put it back somehow, not sure how and it worked. Then someone yelled about invasion. I went off on quests, and went down a drain and killed a Glucksludge or some such thing. Picking up lots of stuff.

I have no idea what we are suppose to be doing. Meanwhile Alleria wants me to go fight Xan’alath because she’s learned that it’s better to tell someone else to do it rather than doing it herself. Maybe I’ll try that instead.

I almost gave up on it, my initial impression was this was NOT GUD.

It’s incredibly small and claustrophobic the way it’s designed, cluttered as heck and all.
It was utterly confusing what to do at first, not being able to fly or even run or ride faster, not great, it’s so small though so I can see why. Essentially, half the quests are no fun, can’t find what looking for, poorly explained, wth am I even supposed to be doing. An unbalanced overpowered enemy randomly all around, an enemy every 10ft you walk, and constantly respawning right next to you. Just annoying…

Speaking of annoying, the constant “We got a tunnel to open!” “I won’t tolerate a threat on my island!” every 5min. popping-up and screaming, unclear what’s going on, or where, constantly barraged, and the thought of having to run all over this claustrophobic, cluttered place, loaded with unbalanced enemies constantly attacking, dismounting you, etc. just NOT FUN. Feeling totally overwhelmed and left out.

Right when I was about to quit the place, I found one of the “events”. Went in. Downed the boss (it was unclear how the cave was “opened” to begin with). Got some meager rewards. 2 Bronze Celebration tokens? Really? What am I supposed to do with that? Toss it into a fountain and make a wish? Pennies for something that is going away in what a few weeks? Why grind for that? Shouldn’t it be new stuff for the new island?

Anyways, notably, some flame-crusty-induced-something-such was awarded, like 180 something. Since I stumbled on a quarter master selling Epic gear, better than what I had, for like 100-140 or so/each I went with it. Followed everyone to the next “boss”…

It was just the two. Down one, then the other already is ready. Go to down that one, and then rush back for the other one. In a very short amount of time, I had over 1000 of this crust-flame ironed out currency and bought new gear so now everything is Epic and Veteran.

Tried the “Defend the Island”, that was a hot mess. The weapons are just throwing or sending crawling bombs with slow reload. Kill 1 thing gives you 1% out of 100%. So best to kill Elites but weapons are way too weak to kill them before you womp you to death. I died 2 or 3 times and only at like 15%. Forget that. Quit.

tldr; NICE! Easy way to get Epic gear fast. Just keep killing the two bosses that spawn every 5min, they drop around 180 of new currency, and that’s more than a enough for 1 item. Before you know it, you can buy all new gear, and sometimes they might drop an item (I only had 1 useless item not my class drop and then a ring after I already bought an Epic one, lol). Once you get new gear (make sure to go to the one that sells the Epic gear), there are other quartermasters that sell transmogs. Those transmogs look plain and ugly. No thanks but it’s there if you want to grind for transmogs with the currency. As for the rest, place is too small, cluttered, unbalanced, frenetic, hassle to explore and deal with. Had to get out as soon as possible, which I did. :dracthyr_shrug:

Its super lame. Not due to the size of it, but because a bunch of quiet quitting millennials throw old assets into the game that mean nothing to the expansion.

I can’t believe I’m going to defend korthia and Forbidden Reach, but at least they were set in the same expansion.

I don’t want a rehashed BFA island slopped in here when we could be doing relevant stuff on the exact same island. Don’t care about the ring, this was the height of lazy.

The content was rushed out and I’ve no idea why it exists if it’s going to be irrelevant in a few months, aside from the ring probably.

It’s so incredibly underwhelming. You can’t convince me this took more than a lazy weekend to “make”.

I already knew it would disappoint, but not gonna lie, a patch that comes with a whole new zone should absolutely be so much better, and we should flat out expect more from the developers than what we just got.

this is exactly like the reach from dragonflight. Get a ring, grind the stones for it. Thats it. Only difference is now they are warbound.

I got my elf ears, making me Arathi and no longer a basic Human. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
