Real ID part 2

Thanks. I just disabled my Real ID.

No no, I see I phrased that to give the wrong impression. The person who threatened me was also someone who worked with us. They identified themselves as such but blocked me before I could get any information. The other employee who reported it to HR has left the company of their own accord. The one who actually threatened me was questioned, shown the information, and terminated after they verified it was their Facebook and that they posted it.

Real names would be bad. My guild leader has a stalker in game. Light help them if their real name gets out there in the forums and their stalker gets his paws on it.

Surely Blizzard isn’t stupid enough to doxx their customers… right?

they were the last time this came up

Blizzard doesn’t really give up bad ideas, they just keep presenting them in slightly different forms until they slip them past us.

Ah, I see Blizz is supporting doxxing, stalkers, and swatting again. How pleasant.

This would be a good way for Blizzard to lose even more subs, especially if a player has to go in and uncheck real.id.

It’s social engineering and part of social credit scoring.

After looking at your post meta-data, I was able to find your onlyfans account and from there your billing address, after some more research I found your name and your soundcloud account which I bruteforced my way into. It’s pretty good music, keep it up!

I’m going to assume that the only time this would be done without your explicit permission is on their internal Customer Service forums if they have them. CS reps working to handle your account issues would probably need to share that information with one another.

Otherwise, this just sounds like typical “we’re covering our @ss” language for this sort of thing.

no it’s real it was on TRUE EAGLE PATRIOT QANON FREEDOM PRESS DOT BLOGSPOT DOT NET

About a decade ago when real ID was a new feature blizz planned to do just as you said. It was going to be set for EVERYONE . Well the rage was immense probably the worse these forums ever saw. If i recall some people raged more because blizz employees were NOT going real id so their handles would continue to be used.

Well someone (dont know who) found out “blue” poster’s real name and they then reasearched their home address information and published it online as a “so how do you like your personal information known” type of example.

A little more rage went on eventually blizz caved from the default real id for all.
