Real Id issue

Is there a setting to make it so that, while I am streaming, my social menu won’t display people’s real names? Almost messed up today.

I can’t seem to find what I am looking for on google, because everything I find is to stop MY real-id from showing up…which is weird because it only displays my Btag, not my real-id…

Yup.

In the bottom right hand corner. Looks like: <-|. Click it to close.

If I recall correctly, I had this same issue when I first started streaming WoW and the only thing that I found to fix it ended up being turning off Real ID completely.

Bear in mind that you will need to manually enable it again and then manually upgrade each friend to Real ID again if you turn it back on, I believe.

The way to do this is to go to your Blizzard account settings in a browser and then click on the “Privacy & Communication” tab, make sure to hit the “Update” Button in the top right corner of this tab once it’s opened, and the 6th option down should be “Real ID” that you can set to disabled.

Wish they had a streaming mode like Discord.

No, the part that really gets me? The setting turns off the real name when you look on the launcher. However, when you look in-game, there is no setting to do that nor does that setting from the launcher apply to the in-game social menu. Why? What a strange choice.
