Real ID API call

Blizzard should allow the retrieval of Real IDs through an API call against players who are not on your friends list.

Too many toxic players out there who are key leavers etc, and adding their Real ID to a blacklist would enable you to know to not invite them even on their alts.

Personally I would like this as just a personal database that does not need to be shared like something such as Raider IO, but if they made it shareable even better, and then just implement a decay system that takes time depending on the number of reports they have against them from players, this would help mitigate trolling from people just blacklist reporting people for no reason, since it would remove marks over time.

Yeah, they should definitely not do that.

The absolute only way this would be even semi allowable would be if it simply was an option to block ā€˜realid’ and gave absolutely no feedback to the client of the realid, basically sends the flag to the server for the character the person you’re blocking is on and blocks that way. If theres any feedback to the client of the actual realID or a way for the client to view the realid thats a giant no. And even then only on an individual level like ignore list.

ah yes, I very much would like people to threaten to murder my family in brutal ways thank you for suggesting such a wonderful idea.

OP, that never will happen. Blizzard isn’t that dumb.

Is it Sunday already?

Iirc ā€œreport spamā€ used to work this way, I’m not sure if it still does or not.
