Ready to give up

OP won’t last a week in Classic. “I want everything and I want it NOW!” is the worst attitude to have in an MMO. The gradual easing up and giving in from Blizzard over the year has led to an army of entitled players.

MMO’s aren’t about logging in for an hour and completing everything your heart desires. It takes weeks of dedication to complete things, and that’s alright, because it’s a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

tl;dr, if you think BFA takes too much time to accomplish things, you should probably stop playing MMO’s and move on to another genre.

I don’t think you need to be that negative or assume you know the entirety of what somebody is feeling from a forum post. What you say about MMOs in general is basically true and has some merit but I don’t see any need for biting commentary and go play something else either.

WoW is a great game. I love it myself. I consider it to be the best MMO ever made. That does not mean it is perfect or that it could not be improved. It’s always improving but also they do make mistakes along the way being humans and all.

It is legitimate for players to offer feedback about how they feel. Even if you don’t agree with it, you don’t have to dump on them over it. You both have valid points but I would just encourage us all to be nice to each other.

What a dreamer huh? Yeah, this is the internet, the anonymous world where anything goes and where sadly we are not always at our best myself included I have to admit.

Blizzard designs a game where everything scales to your level and ilvl, and every season the ilvl cap goes up (so you’re getting weaker if you don’t chase gear). Simply leveling professions takes materials from raids and dungeons rather than materials you can gather in the world.

I don’t want an army of mains, but Blizzard has designed the game so that to do the things I want - completely aside from endgame, instanced content, which I’m perfectly happy doing on one character - I need to treat my toons like an army of mains.

I’d be much happier if I could go back to a time where I could take my enchanter out running dailies, DE the greens into dust, and turn the dust into crystals for my higher-level enchants, but that’s been taken from me. All I can do (since WQ drop blues, outside of the odd emissary), is run her through mythic+ and hope for purples. I’d be happier if I could simply feed cloth to my tailor, but she can’t fully level her profession off cloth anymore. Blizzard has really taken away the option of just letting alts be alts who do a few things, but not all the things.

That’s an excellent point. Just as one example, I earned the gold in basic ways on the AH and then I bought certain crafted mounts because it was far faster than what it would take to make them on my crafters who could do it but for lack of time and you know, I am retired and play a lot of hours each week. I don’t know how somebody with a job and kids at home or whatever could hope to do even what I manage to get done.

So yes, I absolutely do see the need for improvements to this game and I have no apologies to make for saying so.

Further along the lines of what you are saying, my engineer is never going to run the content to be able to make current engineering mounts. He is an alt. So much for making those. I could go on with the rest of them but that’s the basic point. I can’t gear them all to even get the stuff to make things they should be able to make.

This is a valid complaint and, as usual, most of the responses are about how ridiculous the complaint is and how you should just stop playing a game you love to play because you have an issue with certain mechanics. Giving all those requirements to fly is garbage and if there has to be any then rep shouldn’t be a part of them. There’s literally no good reason for how they keep approaching flying. And the fact that they were going to take it away completely and then decided to leave it but with conditions isn’t okay either. Y’all are so rude and condescending.

Uh there would still be warmode. Duh

There is not any bounty or PvP in Non Warmode.

Saying it that way we shouldn’t have flying ever. I believe that. Flying was by far the worse thing Blizzard ever did. Putting everyone in the air adds what to the game?

Nothing.

It kills the what keep forcing down everyone throats World PvP. Can’t have that with everyone in the air.

Why let’s say a month in isn’t any different than a day in.

If you can’t fly day one. You shouldn’t be able to fly day two or three or a year later.

I disagree.

The game has lots of content (ie achieves and collections) that can only be reliably completed with an army of alts.

Then they look and see people creating those armies of alts and think they are playing the game wrong and need to be stopped. If only it were more onerous to play multiple characters, people would choose to play right and become raid loggers or something.

Forcing people to give up their goals is not good for the game. I don’t understand why they think it would be.

If you think that “many people want an army of mains”, you should stop projecting and listen to people who actually play alts. Stop pretending that main-switching over and over again is what most people who play alts do. They don’t.

Gearing up a new toon is not “playing an alt”.

It doesn’t take a geared out alt to kill a mount boss. If you are talking about current content no, you shouldn’t be able to spam it the same way you do your main.

If you think I am projecting, I have one of each level 110+, so quit your ad hom bullcrap.

Those alts should not be able to all run mythics like my main. You want to alt spam, wait until the content is a tier or two back.

No. All the info needed to play the game should be available within the game. I need an addon “Isdone” just to see if I’ve completed a quest or not (FFXIV has an internal quest completed list)
One time, I couldn’t complete an achievement in Outland Nagrand due to several quests missing. I finally discovered (via external sites) that I needed to do a quest in Shadowmoon Valley Sanctum of the Stars (??) to get to do the quests in Nagrand. I should have been able to look this up in game in less than a minute.

There really needs to be an option to search for Achievements in the menu. They are so hodgepodged and thrown together that it’s painful to try and find anything.

And I would like to have an adventure where I go through a long story line, see many different lands and people, and feel rewarded at the end for the time I put in.

People like you are killing WoW and are antithetical to MMORPG’s. If you want a game where you are able to get back to “just working on the best strategy for my class, and then playing it” you should go play a MOBA. Leave our RPG based game alone, please!!!

I keep seeing this thread towards the top of the forum and I think we had a blue actually post on the forum, then I remember this is the thread from half a year ago. lol

There is an addon called BTW Quests that can help you. It shows you quest trees so you can see where quests’s start, and what quests are side quests and don’t need to be completed. Try that.

Don’t listen to the trolls man… retail is dead…

Blizzard tried getting rid of flying. They came out in WoD and said that there would be no flying in Draenor nor in any future expansion.

Overnight they lost so many subs that it took them only 2 weeks to reverse that decision. That was when Pathfinder was born.

Other MMOs have flying and people would just go there if they couldn’t fly here. FFXIV has already received a ton of WoW defectors. The game hit record subs with their newest expansion Shadowbringers.

So yeah, Blizzard has flying because if they didn’t, there wouldn’t be enough players left in this game to keep it running.

WOW Classic will fix it!, since Resilience failed!

Also if you really want to play the new race, it’s a lot of wasted time on a character you’re not sure you want to play anymore doing those achievements.

I’m considering either not subbing at all until just before the .2 of the next expansion to start working on flying, or spending most of my time in the previous expansion working on things i missed there with flying until it’s available. I really don’t like the game without flying and pathfinder itself is super annoying, especially the mechagon dailies.
