Reached Archivists Tier 6 and I Can't Add Sockets to my Gear

I don’t know if this is a bug or design - but I thought that Season 2 gear included the new Korthia gear, which it seems to not work. Shardhide gear in particular doesn’t accept socket from the socketing item (Seems Domination gear is also on that list).

Anyways, figured I make a topic about and bring it to the attention of people who may be able to fix that.

Good to know before I wasted my research on it. So what does it work on then just m+/pvp gear?

Can’t add slots into Domination Gear.

Otherwise, the socket is supposed to be able to be applied to head, bracers, neck, belts, and rings. So if you have items in those slots without a socket, you should be able to add one.

Why would anyone expect domination gear to accept normal sockets?
Also, the pieces you tried to socket are the eligible slots? Only helm, neck, bracer, belt, ring can take sockets – says so on the item.

Seems to work on ‘some’ archivists gear, but not all, kind of annoying, hope they fix it. It worked on a pair of bracers I have that were upgraded with cataloged research - but not anything else.

@Vhx :
I tried upgrading my helm, belt, and a ring slot - it didn’t work, the items weren’t accepted, even though they are 220 4/6 Archivist gear, you can check my character sheet to see what did get sockets though.

Because it worked that way on the PTR

Because they could on the PTR.
IE dom helm and normal socket.

Should put this on the bug report section on the forums then. It may be unintentional.

And PTR always has things that are enabled for testing purposes. Domination shards are already powerful and even more so when the bonuses are activated — so much that they’re being nerfed soon — that the possibility of adding an additional socket is just wishful thinking.

It’s more that the current iteration means that some classes get 5 sockets + 5 domination gems and other classes get 3 sockets + 5 domination gems. That’s so stupid we all thought it was a bug.

Until the events of the past week.
