What are your thoughts on cross-realm trading? Would mail be absolutely amazing too, or would it not and cause issues and additional spam?
I’m sure there are a lot of issues I have not thought of, but it would be nice to be able to send gold and mats to characters on other servers.
I can trade gold and items to a friend and then they can trade it back to me on another server, so I don’t see why mailing things to yourself across realms is so offlimits.

There was a blue post when cross-realm trading was released and people were upset because there was no cross-realm mail. People assumed cross-realm mail would be included even though it was never announced.
The post said that trading and mail are two completely different systems and cross-realm mail would be much trickier to implement. Even cross-realm trading was a disaster for almost a week.
Would I like to see cross-realm trading absolutley.
So far, I’ve been really happy with cross-realm and cross-faction trading.
It’ll get even better when you can do it through the mail so that you can put your alts on any server and send them stuff without needing a friend to help out.
It’s one of those things that would be nice on an individual level but be a complete disaster for the game’s economy. Server economic imbalances would distort local economies as people used alts to ship mats and products around to exploit price advantages.
I personally see that as a great thing because the cost of items on low-population servers has always been much higher than on high-population servers. Cross-server trading helps stabilize prices regardless of which server you’re on and removes the additional gold “penalty” for those trapped on empty realms.

oh you mean like we have in classic? yeah retail is garbage. the 15 year old game works smoother than retail
Imagine thinking classic is a “15-year-old game.” I promise you, we didn’t have cross-realm trading in Vanilla, TBC, or Wraith.

the mail thing might be a cover up saying we dont have the time for it

Honestly I’m of the opinion they just merge everyone to “effectively” (not actually) be on the same server and they just give you a prompt when you log in to give your account a last name…
Giving characters all the same last name perhaps? Though people seem to worry alot about “stalkers” so probably better to just prompt everyone on a character by character basis to make a last name (maybe even a prompt for middle initial if the name you wanted was already taken.
“Owo D. Fox” for example since there’s probably a bunch of dorks on all the servers just like me that would pick fox as a last name with that first name.
I don’t disagree I was just stating what they said. I really hope it gets done at some point I don’t like needing 2 account’s to trade to alts if I don’t have a friend available to help.
This is exactly what I am wanting to do too.
I think gold trading should be disabled mythic + dungeons, I have heard of people holding groups hostage in keys for gold.
Mailing across realm might be too much imo, unless mailing to alts on different realms
