Anything is better than our current iteration of Ret Paladin. The spec is just literal dump right now.

Mid-range melee is all I ever wanted. I won’t be coming back, but I was really excited at the beginning of the PTR. Much less so now.

Umm, having the option to be a mid-range spec is a good thing; it’s a net plus

The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

I rolled a melee dps, not a ranged one. If i wanted range, i would had rolled a mage or lock or hunter

So no, this is not a good thing.

Oookaaay, so if you don’t to use the range aspect in your melee combat, just get close to your target. problem solved.

I’m pretty sure that was the idea. More range does technically mean more mobility. My opinion is that this overall IS an upgrade for rets. They buffed defensives a good amount, so im thinking, even though we won’t be running to the target. We will be dishing out better sustain and not being killed so easily.

I have a DK for that. But you know it’d be nice if paladins actually feel like paladins for a change.

No, mobility got nerfed in pvp. Unbound us dispellable now.

The only difference is almost all our skills has a 20+ range except crusader strike and it’s altering talents and JV. They will be 8 yards of range.

Honestly tge sweet spot for us should be 10 yards max with an actual gap closer.

Not really it just makes ret paladins not really melee anymore, which for a holy knight/templar/crusader thematic is bad.

What is a Paladin to you? Why does a Paladin have to be exclusively melee oriented? BY what metric is this the “standard” for what a Paladin is? Cite actual insight and examples.

do auto-attacks still happen at mid range or do you still have to be in melee range?

I love this so much, the widows of an ability that never existed lol.

If talented auto attacks is increased to 8+ yards.

A melee hybrid that fights using sword play and holy magic and in some cases off heal. They are mostly however more heavy on fighting with healing being weaker then other hybrids. That is standard paladins If your swinging a weapon on mid air not being close enough to beleive your in melee, it is done wrong.

I am really enjoying it. I see this fixing a lot of my issues in the +18 range and finishing the push for hero. Most of my deaths or damage taken are because I’m trying to stay close to do damage and I misjudge how close I am to a swirly or something.

I’ve only seen 4 or 5 situations where I have to use steed to move, so a jump wouldn’t have really helped even though it would have been cool.

I think the range will fix alot of our pve shortcomings. Don’t know about pvp, all I do is ransoms on that side of things. Don’t see it affecting much of the low level play.
