Which didn’t happen. I’d be willing to bet I did more heroic dungeons in wrath than anyone else in the forums. Never once had someone ask to be kicked and refuse to do a dungeon. People make up that nonsense. You’re talking about kicking people at the start of the dungeon, which you literally couldn’t do. Makes me think you didn’t actually play back then.
Also, there was a 15 minute dungeon cooldown. That’s separate from the deserter debuff. So even if you could kick someone at the start, they couldn’t requeue for 15 minutes anyway. Therefore there was NO reason for them to ask to be kicked. That’s just some lie that people invented years later and some people believed for some reason.
Cata…I can’t say. But Blizz had changed things by then. The biggest problem being that dungeons at the start were much more difficult compared to wrath ones. So people were way more tryhard and toxic. Which also happened when Blizz added mythic dungeons to Classic.
I will say at some point they did away with the grace period before you could vote kick…for some people. But I think that was in Cata. Even if it was in Wrath, like I said…they would still have the 15 minute dungeon cooldown and can’t requeue.
Literally why it happened. Blizzard explained it. Deserter was 15 minutes and you didn’t get the cd if you were kicked. Not sure why you’re trying to gaslight everyone here.
You got the 15 minute dungeon cooldown if you got kicked. Take it from someone who actually played back then. And dungeon deserter was 30 minutes.
Here’s, I’ll help you out: https://www.bluetracker.gg/wow/topic/eu-en/11824414332-the-dungeon-finder-what-to-know/
'Each time you enter a random dungeon for which you have queued, you will receive a 15-minute “Dungeon Cooldown” debuff. While this cooldown is active, you will be unable to queue up for another random dungeon. If you attempt to queue up for a random dungeon while this debuff is active, you will receive the message: “You can not queue for random dungeons while on random dungeon cooldown.” A similar message will be received by group leaders in the event that a group member has an active Dungeon Cooldown debuff.’
The dungeon cooldown has nothing to do with how you leave the dungeon. You get it when you join the dungeon.
Cool story bro, people were still abusing it which is why Blizz would rather have 3 people be able to grief someone 15 minutes after a dungeon starts… rather than 1 person hold up the entire group.
15 minutes is still half the time of 30 min deserter. If you’re a tank trying to grief or get kicked because it’s not the one you wanted, you wait 30 instead of 15. GG just be better.
You COULDN’T be kicked at the start. There was a grace period before a kick could be initiated.
It’s hilarious to watch people who didn’t play back then trying to say these things. It’s amazing how many people confuse Wrath with Cata. Which only goes to show the changes Blizz made even back then made it much worse. The original system was the best.
But you know what…none of that matters. People making up stuff from back in Wrath is irrelevant to the discussion. This is a very different situation. You want to know what the root of the problem is? Tossing Mythic dungeons into Classic. The harder the content, the more tryhard toxic players become.
No one cared about your gear or your spec in original Wrath because it was faceroll. That became a similar situation by the end of Cata after the nerfs. MoP Heroics were a very good experience. I don’t remember much toxicity…if any at all. That was the end of my dungeon experience as WoD added Mythics and casuals got the boot. We could have had a similar experience in Classic, but the devs decided to add this Mythic nonsense. So that’s the real problem. Players are going to be toxic gatekeepers when they feel the need to be. And ‘ordinary players’ get punished the way things are right now.
If you keep getting kicked it’s 100% a you problem. If you’re not doing enough dps you shouldn’t be in there. Inferno dungeons need to have an ilvl of 355 minimum
They are actually really fun, I do enjoy the longer dungeons and boss that are massive HP sponge, I hope for the next Inferno style dungeon its 150% HP and 50% damage increase.
Well, if they are fun for you, then that’s great! I hope you enjoy them.
For me, even though I really did enjoy Cata the first time around, this sort of change to Cata instances just isn’t my cup of tea. Fortunately though, there are many offerings on the table for us to all hopefully find something appealing and fun.
I like that mechanics actually exist again, but 100% more hp was a little to much with nothing else added. Which really hurts mana classes.
Adding the fire rings adds a mechanic to follow that increases dps, so with doing the mechanics properly, it improves the speed greatly, which offsets the 100% bonus hp to a degree.
One that continue the more simple (Boring) +XXX% HP +XX% Damage system.
One that continue the more mechanics/aflix less HP sponge dungeon similar to the WOTLK gamma.
So people who prefer the more affix over the more HP version could queue for it, both would give the same rewards so it would all depend on which kind of gameplay you like the most.
I’d be surprised if the OP replies to anyone in their thread. I’m always suspisous of first time posters having these kinds of topics as their first one.
I was a hair breadth from vote kicking a 12k dps DK from my heroic. He dropped army of the dead right as I engaged Karsh Steelbender in the fire.
After the ensuing wipe, he has the nerve to /pst me “You need to move the boss out of the fire”
So I just said in party chat, “Thanks for the private advice DK, but I can’t reposition the boss out of the fire when your ghouls are taunting him every second”
Can’t fix that level of stupid. Guy didn’t even think “Oh crap, my ghouls are retaunting the boss off the tank”. DK really deserved a kick. But knew we’d finish the dungeon before his cooldown on army was up.
Aren’t they the gear catch up mechanism for people who missed P1? I’m at 345 and not too sure how to get to the 370 I’d need to raid Firelands with my guild if not infernos.
People like me with my insta-characters are keeping the game alive lol. funny post tho good novel. Im carrying 90% of ppl in every dungeon on my dks. You shouldnt be able to kick anyone at the start of a dungeon. My mage had more than enough gear for a grim batol inferno dungeon… with a 378 weapon, 2 359 trinkets, valor boes/ 358 pvp gear, gemmed and enchanted btw Who is gonna waste their time in regular heroics to get lower item level gear?
