Right but functionally what is the difference, either way you do a random dungeon for a daily reward? As I recall the reason they tied it to the tool is they couldn’t sync the quests cross realms back in the day.
Sorry, I’m talking about the entire matchmaking dungeon tool, not just the random portion. I just refer to the entire matchmaking tool as RDF even if you specific queue.
What I mean is if you make a traditional group through chat and fly to the dungeon without ever touching the matchmaking tool you could not get credit. Like I said though I may have misremembered that.
Okay and? So your only complaint is you like flying to dungeons?
You can do that while queued in RDF

IF its the emblems, they aren’t really an exclusive either imo.
NGL, if season 8 goes like 7, its at that point pve’ers need to go run some pvp.
all gear slides down a step. Deadly minimal gets a real nice upgrade. Relentless is now non rated for slots left. and the some s8 gear won’t be rating locked for like 4 slots. Unless a stupid high GS need, its clearling most alpha lfg ad needs.
To work that system to get back into pve gear. and the cool part is you can bank up 75K honor on the way to 80.
When ICC drops on a level 80 ding there is several pieces of nice gear waiting in the dalaran sewers alone with banked honor.
The emblem gear intro 80 gear from heroic is not doing that nearly as easy as I see it. Its not really a great exclusive as I see it.
Also the reason its “exclusive” as I said before was lacking RNG RDF no one would run occulus. this ain’t exclusive. Its blizzard saying if you want emblems, you will suffer a few occulus runs for them.
Or take deserter timers. That is always an option lol.
They should make an achievement, something that involves buying a wow token. It could also reward an exclusive pet.
We would see people really lose their minds.
Bottom line.
Just like EVERY other aspect of the game, you pick and choose the content you wish to complete if you want the reward.
And PvP has to do dungeons to get the best gear. Others are forced to do things they don’t want to do, to enjoy what they are actually interested in. No sympathy there, RDF should be as it was then.
Plus, you can still form groups and que for RDF…hope some of you realize that. These anti-rdf arguments are weak at best and disingenuous at wrost.

Ummmm That’s a good question I want to say 15 ? I think because dead minds is 15 ? I’m not sure Though.
And if they copy lfd…you can re-qeue if you find a solid crew even pure rando pug.
I had lfd sessions in retail 5 of us jsut clicked perfectly. DPS not doing bad dps things, tank aware of something called mana for healers…so nice.
And thus began a 5/6 dungeon journey. I good and fun one.
It only ended because some had IRL, some needed breaks.

I remember that RDF in the OG Wrath was spammable for normal level and heroics got locked out one by one as you did them. I think this new system would have that too.
My only question is about how far will it go. Logically, it should go up to Beta/Heroic++, then leave the next level (Heroic+++/Whatever) for people to make themselves. This way it gives people a chance to not hit a gear wall once they obtain level 80.
We did this back in the original already so yeah, if you have fun with your randomly assembled group and feel like doing more someone will ask “more?” and you re-queue and go.

Wouldn’t surprise me. In their announcement all she said was something like ‘We agree rdf might be useful for leveling.’
And obviously they don’t want anything to interfere or detract from their beloved Mythic dungeons that they shoved into Wrath.
