RDF is Kick Happy

Can someone explain to me why people are so V2K happy now-a-days? Like this is getting ridiculous… I can understand kicking someone for not tanking properly, or a healer not healing, or a DPS just intentionally screwing up a mechanic that results in a wipe. Those are all expected to end in getting kicked. But why is it that a tank who is just going the normal route of a dungeon is suddenly getting kicked just because they are doing the normal route? Just because you don’t HAVE to kill the lieutenants in normal Dawnbreaker while leveling, doesn’t mean you CANT kill them. So what if it makes the dungeon take 3 minutes longer? Oh freaking well… If you want to control the route the group takes then be the tank. Don’t get pissy because you’re impatient and want everything done your way. News Flash: The world doesn’t revolve around you. There are other people in the group. Don’t like it? Don’t queue for it.

I don’t know how many posts I’ve read on here since TWW launched that all have the same core complaint. At this point, I think we just need to get rid of the vote to kick system because people just abuse it now. It was nice when it was first introduced and people were using it as intended, but now its just an abused system. I don’t know what to do in its place, but it needs to change. Having leaver penalties applied to you for being kicked by someone who was impatient is not fair.

I mean…this rings a bit deaf when you are complaining about vote kick which…requires a majority vote.

Except for the fact that 90% of the time, people just hit yes because it pops up. They dont look at the reason or even the full situation. They just hit a button to hit a button and get it off their screen. People dont think for themselves anymore, they just follow what ever the next person does. Thats why the vote system is so abusable. If people actually took a moment to read and think about why the vote was started, a lot of votes would be shot down.

The group didn’t like it. The vote happened. That’s the player agency Blizz gave to people.

This forum is roughly one percent of the playerbase. The ten threads are not the majority.

No. I was here when it didn’t exist and it was hell.

There is nothing else to be done. Blame the degenerate behaviors prior to VTK. This system exists to have some player agency over the random people that are shoved together. There is an internal debuff for anyone that kicks and they cannot do it again for quite some time. And it stacks.

so what was the conversation had with the others
how do you know they vote kicked you for whatever lol

When I was farming heroics at launch the only vote kicks that happened were suspected bots.

These threads always give me a giggle. Thanks for the giggle OP.

That’s always my favorite part: “They kicked me for this reason!!” But… how do you know? Does that mean a debate happened and you ignored it so they kicked you? Does it mean no one said anything so you’re guessing?

No one gets a message that says, “You were kicked for this reason.” And even then, I’m guessing we wouldn’t get all the details.

Have I seen people try to kick for the dumbest reasons? Yep. Rarely, but yep. I decline those. And the funny part is when the whole group thinks it’s a stupid reason and someone says, “Why didn’t you kick them when I told you to?!” So we kick that person for being a troll. Karma, babeh.

The conversation that occured was one of the DPS saying that I didnt need to kill the lieutenants in normal dawnbreaker. I simply responded back with “This is what im used to doing, so please come help fight” and while killing the third lieutenant with the rest of the group, I was vote kicked. The rest of the group was with ME fighting, not sitting at the boss waiting for me.

And they took a vote on those 3 minutes to kill those Lieutenants from the sound of it.

Sorry. Yeah, the vote kick system can suck sometimes. I hope you get a better group next time.

Ah. So they didn’t want to do something, you said no to them and they decided if you weren’t going to listen, they’d vote to kick you, so two others decided yes.

You may not like it, but it’s valid. You could have asked the group, “Do you want me to skip these?” after the DPS said you didn’t have to kill them. But you chose to do your own thing. Someone disliked that.

Would I have done it? No. But I wouldn’t have been happy if the tank basically told me “we’re doing it my way, so get over here” in their nicest way possible.

The role of the tank is to direct the group on where to go. The path the group takes is up to the tank unless the tank relinquishes that duty to someone else. With that said, I will refer back to my original statement of “If you want to control the route the group takes then be the tank.”

The tank may set the pace, but it’s up to the group to deal with it and if everyone feels you’re going too slow or too fast, they can and should kick you… granted they should voice their displeasure first, but I personally don’t see a problem here.

So its a bruised ego thing

Sounds like the group took a vote to relieve you of that duty lol

You can do that all you want in dungeons where no one questions you or ones you put together yourself. But when the group questions you or doesn’t want to do something in a pug… you listen and ask, because you’re part of a team.

If you want to ignore what your group wants to do in a pug, then go run follower dungeons.

One person out of the whole team does not mean the team wants it… Again this goes back to people dont read vote reasons, they just hit yes and move on

Nice headcanon

Majority agreed to the kick and the reason is literally on the pop up WHERE YOU CLICK to accept or decline coping isn’t gonna fix this.

You have no idea what they did or did not do. If they were tagging along with you, but didn’t want to, and disliked the way you spoke to the person who said you didn’t have to do something… that’s a pretty valid reason for someone to say, “They want to vote kick the person who decided to blow someone else off? Okay.” Click yes.

I’ve done a lot of normal leveling dungeons. They are harder than in previous expansions, so people are quicker to kick someone who is afk or trolling. They don’t feel like carrying someone to completion who is washing dishes. The idea that anybody could afk at the start, never move, and be immune to being kicked is unacceptable.

Not killing the lieutenants in Priory is a sure wipe.
