A bit too late for it to fix the game unfortunately. The anti-rdf crowd that somehow convinced Blizzard it was good to keep it out of the game really showed us they had the best idea.
I bet most of them don’t even play anymore.

No one convinced Blizzard to do anything. Blizzard knew their intention long before Wrath was even announced.
Indeed. No one convinced them of anything. They didn’t ask the players. RDF wasn’t in any of the surveys.
Incompetence and laziness. That’s why RDF isn’t in Wrath.
RDF wasn’t in any surveys because that’s a lot of work for blizzard and they are either unwilling or uncappable of replicating the dungeon finding software, be it server wide or multiple servers together.
I can understand people on the popular servers thinking this game is rocking right now but on the less populated servers we can already feel this game fluctuating and dying toward the end of each phase when there are supposedly plenty to play with on other servers… it really feels like a blizz money grab to try and incentivize server transfers for money. Just so you can play on a more populated server. Which would be okay if you hadn’t made alts and such. RDF is a community builder, just need to expand your mindset on who all to include in your community
The software is already part of the client they have used for Classic. They’re not ‘incapable’ of doing it. There’s one simple reason they chose to remove it, and it’s money.
Oh, okay.
I assumed they fired the original coder, or they quit…
Are you saying it would just be a flick of a switch?? To turn rdf on?
Most of the original team (From Vanilla to LK) are gone. They were fired, quit, laid off, etc.
They physically removed the coding from the client. While it wouldn’t be as easy as flicking on a switch, it also wouldn’t be hard to put it back in.
Nothing in classic has really just worked without fixing and then look at how much trouble they’re having even getting the far simpler LFG Tool to work.

This is true. That’s why I didn’t mention it working flawlessly - just that it wouldn’t be the hardest thing to put it back in.
then look at how much trouble they’re having even getting the far simpler LFG Tool to work.
I don’t think they’re having a hard time making the new tool work - I think they’re satisfied with it, and haven’t even thought of fixing it ever since the 1 person responsible for it green-lit it to go.
RDF likely would have been much easier to keep in the game, rather than implement this garbage. But, again, it interfered with their revenue.
I think that it is an obvious choice for their pocket books. And they originally said no to classic at all until a 200k+ petition was signed. I think someone needs to put a pro RDF petition out there.
And they originally said no to classic at all until a 200k+ petition was signed.
Honestly, it probably had nothing to do with any petition. Private Vanilla/TBC/LK servers were leeching money from Blizzard, and with their subscriptions down so low, they saw a way of bringing back some revenue by releasing Classic.
If it had anything to do with what players wanted, we wouldn’t currently have Classic on life support. They’d be communicating with us, they’d be fixing the countless bugs/glitches, they’d stand by their game with a semblance of pride. This was a pathetic attempt to regain some of the subscribers their mistakes cost them.
Dungeon finder was one of the best things for leveling alts… if they don’t wanna add it back then why not just give us all fresh 70’s instead of starting all our characters at level 1 if classic is supposed to be about more than experiencing the current patch end game content, dungeon finder is how you do it… it makes the rest of the game into more collaborative play.
However, classic exist after years of them saying…no.
You’re not completely wrong, private servers like wrath private servers currently have bigger live population than any low population realm in classic, it’s kind of sad.
They also have RDF
Kek
Dude this would be the best, I would not mind leveling all my alts from 70 to 80 to only experience a wrath classic experience.
Then rdf can be implemented for the rest of the dungeons no problem for anyone. Glad we agree…lol.
Yea, but Blizzard doesnt care and isnt gonna allocate resources for it since people will play the game with or without it.
So… it is noon on a Saturday during a winter storm and not a ton of people are out and about and I go to run a dungeon on my freshly leveled rogue…7 people in the LFG feature, counting myself and none of them wanting to run the same thing.
- On a server with supposedly thousands.
7 people.
Can we get RDF now? Id be fine if it was server only but if you have to open it up, I guess we have to? I dont want to open it to all the other servers but 7 people counting myself is all that is active.
what about at late night can we get some late night discussion about this?
Something else we agree on…lol.
As a Rift dev once posted, no problems as long as people are paying. Wonder how rift is doing today.
Now, ya’ll know why they want to lock in 12 month subs.

Yea BfA and SL did irrepairable damage to the view of Blizzard imo couple that with sexual assault allegations and the flop of WC3:Reforged and Blizz is just hanging on to the king of the mountain title these days. DF is shaping up to be one of the all time great expansions and it has record low players due to people just not trusting Blizz anymore.
