I don’t have an agenda. I don’t think rcr has a place in classic. I don’t think you should be able to silence people unless you ignore them. The way it’s gonna be is you’re gonna rcr half your server because it’s always more than one person spamming public channels. You have easy tools to avoid it but you’d rather ruin someone elses play time because you think you’re the chat police.

You continue to misuse the word “silence” and continue to use “you” as though one person can do it on their own.
More than 1 person does not equate to half of the server, by the way. If more than 1 person is spamming, the each one of them deserves to be squelched.
And blizzard thinks otherwise. A number of us agree.

People don’t need a legit reason to troll abuse RCR.
Your guild is raiding and you got what some dude wanted, it takes 5 reports to silence you. That’s easy, everyone has 5 friends who can do them a favor. Can’t have too many people rolling on piece of gear they want.
You winning wsg, salty guy and his friends report you to kill your competition.
It’s a bad system that does not belong in classic. It’ll be heavily and unjustly abused.

There is chat filter that’s on. Don’t turn it off if words upset you.
With the filter on I can still report you as the rules specifically state ‘including masked language’ … so next.
Plus why would I limit what I can see in private channels because you have no respect for ohers in public channels ?

I am well aware that respect for others is something that is no longer considered the norm. It makes me sad that the world has come to that and at least in WoW I have a way to combat that fact.
While I have many friends and my own children that are millenials who have caused this with their embracing anonymity online it still is something that needs to come back. If we learn respect for each other, no matter race, religion or otherwise, we will improve the world we live in instead of watching it burn.

Look, there’s a few things you can do here:
1.) Don’t abide by the rules and accept any punishment you may receive.
2.) Abide by them and in the incredibly unlikely scenario you find yourself silenced despite that, appeal the silence and move on with your life.
3.) Make a proper thread detailing why you think Blizzard should revise their rules for Classic WoW.

but have you not read their hypothetical situation of people getting squelched for an advantage in PvP ? The situation that has been posted about in the customer service forums exactly 0 times ? The fact that there have been exactly 0 cases of false squelches shown to be false with proof ?
It’s like if they keep yelling ‘it’s being abused !!!’ it will cause it to become true.

Never once said it was fake, but as it has not been proven to be fake or real it’s really just conjecture and hyperbole at this point.
Nobody said that it can’t happen, we are saying it doesn’t happen (or happens so rarely as to be a 0 sum issue).
They will, watch. Its even worse in BGs where people get mad easy.
I was squelched in WSG for calling incs and requesting defense.
