Rbgs becoming nothing but carry groups

Had 3 different carry groups back to back to back and all from Illidan oddly enough. Group disbanded, can’t say I blame them. Who wants to play against 3k players in 1600-1800 bracket like wtf? Makes it pretty much impossible to get cr legit but I’m not about to pay for it either. Why is nothing done about this? I thought paying for boosts was against tos?

As long as gear ilvl is tied to rating there will always be carry groups.

Rating shouldnt be tied to anything but ego and maybe vanity items.

Hi there. PVP item level isn’t tied to rating.

Yea I’m not seeing it, you can get 424 ilvl with 0 rating. But that 424 ilvl isn’t going to help much against a 6/10 premade carry group with those 6 all having 3k rating from something somewhere sometime. I could hang with 2k or higher groups easily if I could actually get there but getting there is the problem with nothing but carry groups as far as the eye can see.

Title, mounts, bragging rights, conquest points/gear; only thing it doesn’t buy is the skill earned playing your character. There were and still probably are groups of people making their living doing it, it doesn’t just disappear. At least there are probably fewer of them and they probably charge less, probably want to be really careful dealing with them now since they’re a little hungrier and might need to resort to other in game money making opportunities.

Take the titles and mounts away, and there goes the problem along with them. It is well beyond my comprehension why a living organism of high intelligence (human being) would spend real, or even fake, money on a digital word or item in this game. But, alas I don’t get a say in what other people spend their money on. Just do away with what they want to purchase. I get it, it’ll sting for the most minority population of players, but I think it will be a massive net positive for the community.

gear isnt tied to rating at all. theres just one set for pvp. conquest. and thats it. you can up your pve item level on it but does nothing for pvp. not sure what your talking about man?

People that PVE buy the carries to get high level gear.
Its messed up but it happens.
People also buy carries for the mounts or other things tied to it.

There will always be carries

Keystone and raid gear is much better for pve.

Dont think anyone is buying RBG carries for a vicious mount, honestly.

Oh yeah titles in the game don’t mean anything anymore except maybe mythic raiding title or gladiator because it really hard to get those even in Carey groups . I remember getting duelist on my priest a long time ago in a galaxy far away and it was so awesome. But the I came back to the game and had to make a new account and everyone basically has duelist. I got it and it didn’t mean nothing. You can just buy it with tokens and gold

Heard that one a few times before…

Well they were against boosting once upon a time but then they realized the money to made to be made from boosting.

Thus the introduction of the wow token where blizzard puts themselves as the intermediary between boostie and booster where you pay blizzard for gold then you pay the booster the said gold for the service.

They are no longer against it they were fully aware of that lucrative plan and ever since the wow token they have all but effectively endorsed boosting

They really needed to stop what the did sooner but I’m reluctant to assume malfeasance though predatory capitalism is worshiped in this country so such behavior wouldn’t be viewed the same in the board room as it is in game I’d just need something more conclusive. I’d never play the game again if I really believed that’s what happened.

There were pages and pages of carry services, often blotting out any wow related inquiry in Google. People bragged they quit their jobs. What happened may darken WoW for a long time to come.

I wish Blizzard could do something against it. Maybe like starting to ban carry groups, delete their mounts, armor and titles.

Yeah that’s why I like using my celestial defender title, don’t see many of those anymore these days lol

hmm… a lot of my buddies (and myself) enjoy higher rating because it’s more enjoyable competing against players who know what they’re doing, than those who dont

Then insane title.
Justicar.

But any of the rating titles or raiding or m+ titles don’t men anything because people can just purchase them. Pay to win. I been messing around in some Rbgs and I think we were around 1700 and we four teams in five games yesterday were carry groups. Some of the guys in the groups were 3k eating in arena or shuffle. I’m an average joe I might get two or three toons to 1800 a season…I don’t understand why people would want to pay for a title they didn’t earn

It has been condoned by Blizzard since the beginning. They ban for cheating and RMT, but carrying people has never been against their rules, apparently. They’ve been hearing about how bad it is for the community for years and years and years, but look where it has gotten.

It will continue to ruin the game. I don’t anticipate blizzard ever putting a stop to it, unfortunately. And that’s not being pessimistic; carry groups have succeeded for over a decade.

we dont have pvp devs man. thats a past ancient thing. we dont constitute the majority of paying players. thats m+ because its so easy to get gear and not need skill. welcome to the new world of paycraft. pay to win. buy those tokens to balance out the hemmoraging of subscriptions. if it makes money for blizz they aint gonna stop it. and it obviously makes them money to have boosters in the game.
