Has the community still not got the memo that Elemental Shaman is great in RBGs? Seems like a huge uphill battle to get into a semi competent group these days. I know my ilvl is not the greatest on this Shaman, but we are talking in the 1400cr range.
I really don’t get this meta slave mentality in the current player base.
Rbgs feel very weird right now. Dunno if its that all the pve only people have left the area or if inflation is so low or what but everyone i talk to, even multi r1/hoth players are experiencing the same thing. Its hard to get groups.
Ele is probably the top or definitely top 3 dps with control of lava and skybreakers when it comes to damage. Good utility, good burst, but we still lack mobility amd stealth. We cannot sit bases or cc cap. We cannot catch up to a druid/dh running a flag .
Start your own groups.
If I started my own group I would take 2 rogues and 4 boomiins and a guardian who has boomkin offspec.
Even I would want to replace my ele shaman with a boomkin .
At least you’d be in a group

You can vent about not being able to get a group…or start one and take players you think are competent. That is the reality.
Posting on shaman forums doesn’t change how players on other classes view shaman. What is in our control though, is making our own groups.
Id rather take a player i knew was incompetent if they played a druid than a competent anything else. Its better for the comp.

Ever had a incompetent rogue on your team? The difference between a user who knows how to play rogue vs not is huge and it goes for every class (some just show more than others).

Sure you want boomkins but to say stacking them over other classes, especially someone who knows how to play other said classes is a hard no from my view point.

like its incredibly incredibly common to run 3+ boomkins in rbgs. not trolling at all, stacking boomkin is absolutely what you will do.
You’re asking why you can’t get into pug groups at 1400 while not being the best geared? It’s because you’re trying to get into pug groups at 1400 while not being 230 ilvl. Pugging is always a bad choice because they are 8 times out of 10 picky and only want the best of the best but still get stuck at 1400.
1400 pug groups are meant for undergeared people. you sound like those hiring managers that require 8 years experience and a master’s degree for an internship.
Our biggest disadvantage in BG’s… our burst is not good enough to overcome this. If we had an immunity of some sort…
I never said that they were not? I just said that that pugs are picky and don’t tank low geared players to their group because they want the best of the best because they think ilvl=skill or good class balance.

If you are 230 you are not undergeared.
You specifically stated that you’ll get passed up in 1400 rbgs if you don’t have 230ilvl.

Our burst absolutely is strong enough to offset this. Ele is also now very strong for Rot comps as dispels lead to 6-10k control of lavas, and not dispelling leads to massive sustain dmg.
Ele’s burst isn’t used on the target caller’s target. When the tc calls a go, you nuke a healer 100-0 while they are trying to keep the person getting trained alive.

now that it benefits from Elemental Fury, my highest was 18.7k crit
So people are running control of lava and sky breaker now …What are they taking off, skyfury …? Not having EE and Skyfury would be taking a big chunk out of our burst and replacing it with sustained . I don’t know , I think a Boomie can do sustaineda lot better than a ele
