On the PTR, our priests’ mind controls were randomly breaking. I know this is how other targets react to MC - it checks every 3 seconds or something and potentially breaks. Im just not sure if Razuvious understudies are supposed to work like that because it makes the fight significantly more difficult.
Have you tried 4% spell hit instead of 3%? I feel like with capped hit I’ve never seen polymorph break early, but there’s always the 1% on fireball.
In any event this is 100% how it was in 2006.
No, i heard a rumor that more hit would reduce the chance of a hearbeat resist but there’s no verifiable info on that. well, i just wanted to be diligent and make a post here about it. some priests in priest discord said their MC’s were breaking within 10 seconds, which you could argue makes the fight nearly impossible because of the debuff that gets put on the understudy
Be on your game and try to have a second priest waiting for that break constantly spamming to pick up. Welcome to the world of Sap and Sheep.
spell pen maybe?
so, yes, we can up our game, but I want to propose a thought experiment.
If it truly is just RNG and you can randomly break, say, 10 seconds after the MC is cast - wouldnt this lead to a lot of pulls of Razuvious being mathematically “impossible”? Due to the debuff that is applied to the understudies after getting out of MC. You could theoretically cycle through all the understudies before the first one’s debuff wears off, then none of them are MC’able and Razuvious tears through your raid group. I guess this is my main reasoning when I think, something about this seems off.
Potentially, but the heart beat break was part of vanilla CC as annoying as it is.
You’re talking about a 1% chance to break every 5 seconds with hit cap.
The odds of it actually making the encounter impossible on any given pull are astronomical.
