So In advance settings I try to make use of this but it just doesn’t do any difference. Pretty sure RTX 3080 meant to support hose since it does in other games I own. What the heck Blizz?
Does nothing except cost you 20fps. It’s not on your end, Warcraft raytracing is garbage. I have a 3080 as well but I don’t run raytracing in WoW.
No it doesn’t affect my FPS.
There’s 100% chance you lose FPS when you turn raytracing on in any game ever.
Sounds like you play on a poor-man PC, lmao.
Nah if you’re on a 60hertz or 100hertz monitor and you hit the respective frames per sec you won’t notice any difference. Only case where there would be a discernible difference is 144 because it’s unlikely even a great GPU are hitting those frames in WoW with Ray tracing on.
Anything more than your monitor can display is just pushing numbers for funsies.
Yeh I get that, but someone saying when you turn raytracing on you don’t lose FPS is not true. If your monitoring your gpu you see the FPS hits. More noticeable at 4K ultra settings I guess, maybe op is running lower res.
I have a 2080ti in one rig and a 2070 super in another and I cant enable RTX in either. I play every other rtx title perfectly fine, but can’t even enable it to see how poorly done it in fact is in wow
There are a couple “hoops” you have to jump through to make sure you can enable ray tracing in WoW.
The first is up to date graphics drivers, which is pretty easy, and probably something you’ve already done. The other is to make sure Windows is also updated to at least the May “version 2004” update. That’s probably what you’re missing. You can make Windows update to that manually, if it hasn’t already prompted you to do so.
Personally, I saw very little difference, so I just kept it off.
Could be that. Maybe they are playing on a low res.
Even on 3090 on max settings players are getting -75-79 with drops to 58. It certainly doesn’t look like it’s optimised. Though it looks pretty sweet!
NGL I’m a little bit jelly, looks nice.
I’m using an integrated GPU chip on the Intel Hades NUC… .
All of it is up to date, I’m even on insider build so ahead of public release. That’s not really the problem since it works on different titles. It’s only an issue with WoW alone.
I’d just be happy to find a decent graphics card these days. I was going to go all out and build a new PC but everything is out of stock or scalped up to high heaven…hic!
Do what I did, give your name to a few store and be on wait list and wait that sweet phone call.
I’d rather wait at this point. I was looking to get an AMD high end processor/board with a high end graphics card but now I’m just going to put the money away and upgrade what components I can on my existing PC. Prices are way to high for something that will lose value faster then a new car going off the lot…hic!
Depends what you do. I do a lot of VR stuff, so I like upgrading. (Totally nothing to do with VR Chat.)
