Ravenous Frenzy in Class Tree

Put it where Furor is. It’s thematically cool on the cat/bear side of the tree.

While it is cool, and I really enjoyed it in SL, I’m not sure I’d like to see it return.

Part of my ongoing disdain with Guardian in particular is so much of our threat/damage is baked into Incarn and I’d much rather see us move away from that style entirely. If there is anything I have found more fun in S4 than S3 is that playing something like BDK effectively has cooldowns on every single pull, something that I wish Guardian had.

Noo just no, that kind of 3 minute playstyle should never return to the game. It puts bear in a place to where it cant bee buffed because of its absurd dmg in cds.

Hope things like this never return to the game.

Ya I would agree to some extent but I think that could be solved by a reliable Incarn proc or something like Mages SKB.

The current iteration of Guardian in beta doesn’t give you what you want — it’s an improvement but still a continuation of SL. I think ravenous frenzy works for all specs and even if it isn’t major OP, it’s interesting thematically.

Agreed. I’ve mentioned this on the alpha/beta forums, but I really would like to see some type of talent similar to Anger Management where either Rage spent or the use of specific buttons in your rotation can reduce the cooldown of Incarn instead.

Some examples:

  • Using Thrash while Incarn is on cooldown reduces its cooldown by 5 seconds.
  • Using Maul while Incarn is on cooldown reduces its cooldown by 2 seconds.
  • Consuming a Gore proc while Incarn is on cooldown reduces its cooldown by 1 second.
  • Using Maul while Incarn is active hits 3 targets rather than 1.

I think this opens the door for some really nuanced gameplay tactics and offers synergy to the spec that works outside of the Mangle/Maul synergy, which to me feels more focused toward Raid than Mythic+.

Yeah I think that’s a good idea. More interplay between buttons and cooldowns would help guardian cause it’s boring rn

Exactly.

I know there are some who love the simple nature of Guardian and I think adding that interplay doesn’t impact that simple design but allows an experienced player to master Guardian at a much higher level. It’s really a win for the spec imo.
