I’ve played World of Warcraft for nearly the entire 20 years the game has existed. From my first moments in Azeroth, the most defining element in the game has always been the exploration and mystery of what’s around the next corner. This Ratt’s Revenge achievement secret hunt has given me that true feeling of exploration and adventure again like nothing else has. Working with the Secret Finding community, traversing the vast worlds in game, and scouring every nook and cranny has been an absolute blast. The Dev’s responsible for this should be praised!

Just wanted to drop a huge thank you for creating the Ratt’s Revenge secret event! It’s been such an awesome experience diving into Azeroth with friends, both revisiting the old world and exploring newer zones. The way you’ve woven secrets into the game feels so rewarding, and it’s been a blast uncovering them together as a group. This event has brought back that magical sense of adventure we all love about WoW, and it’s clear how much thought went into making it special for the 20th anniversary. You’ve knocked it out of the park! Can’t wait to see what’s next.

I agree its been fun! Including the pet battle part which is always nice to see as its not normally included in many things. Plus its a great tie-in for other secret/hidden things as well.

Do you HAVE to use the secret pets? Or can you just use any that you have? I don’t really do pet battles, so I will sadly have to miss out going any further with this secret. I really enjoyed this too.

Yes you have to use secret pets. Fortunately SEVERAL of them are easily obtainable with detailed guides on how to do so–some of which taking as little as 10-20 minutes.
There are also guides for how to get your pets leveled to 25 quickly and how to increase your chances of winning the one pet battle you have to do for the secret.
If this is your “bridge too far” moment then I hate to see the effort you put in to anything else in the game.

More info on the 5 o’clock orb and the pet battle against Jeremy.
Defeat Jeremy using a party of only secret level 25 battle pets. An
[Ultimate Battle-Training Stone] (sold by most battle pet NPCs like Erani at [58.5, 64.9] in Dornogal) will raise any battle pet to level 25. A suggested party is
[Spyragos],
[White Murloc Egg] (Terky), and the
[Spooky Bundle of Sticks] (Wicker Pup). Other pets include
[Taptaf],
[Nelthara],
[Gurgl],
[Glimr’s Cracked Egg],
[Snowclaw Cub],
[Jenafur],
[Large Honeycomb Cluster] (Bumbles),
[Sun Darter Hatchling], and
[Baa’ls Darksign]. Some secret pets that do not count include
[Faberge Egg] (Francois), the
[Hungering Claw],
[Lil’Abom], and
[Baa’lial Soulstone].

I’m just coming back to WOW after not playing the starting area in Pandaria and loving all these secret stuff/achievements. Come to find out that I really love the feeling of getting achievements and mounts. It was tough getting some of the achievement quests for the 20th since I didn’t have a lot of portals/certain expansion parts opened up. Tried my best not to look up spoilers except for stuff like that.
I agree with you on that classic feeling of what is around the corner.

I stalled out pretty hard during TWW levelling and paused my sub, I’m renewing my account specifically because this kind of community secret hunting is so much fun and is getting me hooked again.

Agree with this 100%. Pet battles are bad enough but the pets required to beat this is absolute garbage. Pedestal 5 is an absolute roadblock for a lot of people.
See this here I don’t understand. Not the part about disliking pet battles, I get that many don’t care for them, but the idea that some of the sheer absurdities and frustrating mechanics involved in this event are fun and/or engaging and the pet battle is the stumbling block is just ludicrous to me.

Been playing for over 15 years and even I don’t have everything required to finish this quest. How are players just getting involved or coming back supposed to? You require a 25k pet costume, obscure battle pets, and many other random items for a mount that is supposed to be a reward, not a second job to obtain. This could have easily been done using items that were easier to obtain or have been obtained for free by a majority of players. It shouldn’t take a weeks worth of prep time just to be able to attempt this event.
The secret is a celebration of 20 years of Warcraft. It should take effort to obtain. Luckily, almost none of it except the pet battle actually requires personal contribution; you can get friends to help you for the other collection elements (and there were even intermittent reports that the pet battle would also grant credit in a group).
