Rating, Title and Reward Reworks

I was watching a small content creators video on YT this morning about the well known issues with the Arena Rating System, CR, CR inflation and rewards being tied to static CR Numbers with such variation season to season. The YT creators name was Palumor if anyone is interested in watching his full take on the subject. I agreed with his take on most of what he was saying about the subject with a few minor disagreements or additional changes in mind. The Old Titles and Players CR Exp have already been tainted and rendered meaningless imo. We need a complete rework of the rating system, titles and achievements in The War Within. Not only do we need new reward cut-offs, but some of them need to be more easily obtained for the mass. Catering all the rewards to such a small player base is pretty unfulfilling to the majority of players who PvP. The rewards need to be tied directly to your ladder percentile for the season in your region and not a static CR Number.

Top 90% - Title

Top 75% - Title

Top 50% - Title and Tier 1 Mount

Top 35% - Title and Tier 1 Transmog

Top 25% - Title and Tier 2 Mount

Top 10% - Title and Tier 2 Transmog

Top 5% - Title and Tier 3 Mount

Top 2.5% - Title and Tier 3 Transmog

Top 1% - Title and an Exclusive Mount

for the season. The rewards should be given at the end of the season when the ratings are most accurately measured on the ladder. Whatever percentile you achieve should grant you those rewards and all rewards from previous percentile(s).

The Top 25 Overall (Not Percent) on the Ladder with each Specific Class/Spec should get Title representing that Achievement.

As far as the Tier 1-3 Mounts go, the Tier 1 Mount should just be some basic version of the mount and then as the tiers progress you can add armor and/or glow effects etc… to make it look a bit cooler. As far as the Tier 1-3 Transmogs go, the Tier 1 Mog would just be your Conquest Set with a color change. Tier 2 would have some added effect to Tier 1, and Tier 3 another color change with the added effect as well.

One other suggestion I had, but it may be very unpopular, is that the percentiles should also be separated by class and maybe even specific specs (Tanks potentially Excluded from Rewards). So if someone has a class or spec they enjoy most but it happens to be the worst performing class or spec on the ladder, they can still play the class or spec they want and obtain the reward at a lower CR than someone playing the meta class or spec for the season.

I hate the idea of an unarmored glad mount being rewarded to lower ratings.

I do think we’d be better off if they had leagues like in other games where there was rating decay, promotion matches etc.

If you look at the suggestions again, the Top 1% which would be the new Glad, says Exclusive Mount. The other mount tier 1-3 would be a separate from the “Glad Mount”

They’ve been doing unarmored glad mounts for rep or casual content since tbc, though
