Rated Solo Raid Queue

Idea:

A rated solo raid queue. The difficulties you can select to run are determined by your rating. You can choose the difficulties that are tied to the breakpoints you reached.

0CR through 1399CR = LFR
1400CR through 1799CR = Normal or LFR
1800CR through 2399CR = Heroic or lower
2400CR+ = Mythic or lower

Rating is determined by # of wipes on a given boss in a given run, e.g. 5 (or whatever number is chosen) or less wipes before boss kill = +CR (the total would need to be determined, and based on whether or not repeat kills should be necessary) on boss not previously killed that week in rated solo mode.

Players can leave w/o penalty after one boss kill (the way LFR Deserter used to work). Leaving prior to killing at least one boss in the run = -CR unless too many wipes occur.

No additional rewards tied to ratings other than titles. All gear, etc. needs to come from drops within the raid.

No determination stacks in rated mode. No special tuning for rated mode, e.g. whatever you get in a premade heroic or mythic boss is the same as you get in rated heroic or mythic boss.

Like Blitz, the group comp does not have to be optimal. You get what you get out of 2 tanks, 4+ healers and 14+ DPS. Non-optimal group comps are a tradeoff for convenient queueing.

Thoughts? Would you participate if it meant being able to more easily access (not complete, but access) higher levels of raiding?

Sure, tiers work in Delves, they should work in Follower Dungeons and raids as well.

I’d also like to see Story Mode Raid extended to all the bosses, not just the last one.

I like that idea too.

Lets start with solo M+ first.
But overall yes, I am a big advocate for rated queue systems, especially in MMOs.

Look at BG Blitz, it is way more popular than Rated BGs have been for a looooong time and in general it does a good job at matchmaking.

I personally think both at the same time would also work out.

Any PVE rating that goes down based on the performance of others is doomed to end in toxicity

Its bad enough with the up only system we have now…but once the down is added, oh boy

I wouldn’t participate if you gave me the keys to the city and $10,000.
