I think this is so pathetic. Most people won’t let you play unless you have exactly what you want. If you go with a lower group and lose, you get punished heavily. Your system is garbage. Why is there not a random system so that I don’t have to spend hours trying to look for a group?
Players have this notion that queues for anything above “casual” level wouldn’t work, and just outright refuse change.
They’re like the classic people who scream “no changes.”
Do you have any way to refute the reasonable concerns that the people against adding different ques have?
The largest concern players against it seem to have is the fact that it would drain the population from Constructed 2s, 3s, and RBGs. That is a fair concern, certainly, as dividing a population in half means neither sample is as impactful as the original whole.
That said, what would happen if that half in favor of solo queue simply…quit?
You’d still have your depleted playerbase, the only difference is that the playerbase that left can at least do something more enjoyable or fulfilling, but I digress. The big problem in all of this, in my opinion, is a failure to recognize people as individuals. There’s an expectation that everyone else should just accept what is for the sake of the players who can climb.
Solo queue wouldn’t eliminate constructed queue, as a matter of fact it could very well improve it by matching up players who work together very well and would have otherwise never met and stayed away from constructed queue because of it.
Ultimately if solo queue was solo only and anyone in a premade group was bumped into constructed, no one would be hurt by the divide, and youd see a growth in PvP participation.
What are the “reasonable concerns”?
This. Solo Queue vs Solo Queue and Constructed (as you call it) vs Constructed. No harm no foul.
Honestly it makes no sense to me why the default wouldn’t be that the most you could queue as is a duo in solo-queue RBGs. Otherwise you’re by yourself.
